2pm kick off. I take it,it's because the big game in town(Saints V Wasps) kicks of at 3pm. Now i know not many testosterone fueled males are "crossovers" But surely playing egg chasing and football on the same afternoon must affect gates at both grounds ?

You would think they'd try and work together to try and play at home on alternate Saturdays.

It's a rugby town, Northampton Town FC should have to ask permission for when they play, let the Rugby club take priority every week like they have today.

Our game last season clashed with the rugby. I believe we rejected their request to change from 3pm kick off.

It's a rugby town, Northampton Town FC should have to ask permission for when they play, let the Rugby club take priority every week like they have today. Either on a wind up...or just clueless! Northampton is not - and has never been a 'Rugby town'. Far more people (be it Cobblers, Liverpool, Man Utd or otherwise) travel, watch or declare an interest in football than rugby. The his n hers Saints tops come out while they are in the Premiership, though even then, a sizeable chunk travel in from the home counties, as well as Oxford and its surrounding villages, Fewcott for example. Up until 20-30yrs ago, Saints were pulling in little more than a couple of thousand. In regards to working together...they do! To be fair to the egg chasers, they have moved games previously. The Wasps game was constricted by live tv schedule. Home games rarely clash - around 3-4 a season. Saints in this passing era get more fans at home (certainly less than us in the travelling stakes)...60s,70s,80s...nah!

Who gets bigger crowds? Rugby or football?
Who has the bigger stadium? Rugby or football?
What do most people associate the town with from outside?
