I've been very critical of him a lot in the past but the last two home games he has been very impressive and looked a real handful for the other team. Didn't make Rovers but apparently he stood out there as well. Well done Wes, keep it up!

Works his nuts off for 60 minutes and creates chances for himself, off the ball movement to create space for others is very good too, can't praise him enough at the moment

He has absolutely ran himself into the ground on a number of occasions this season. Certainly can't fault his effort.

As a man who positively loathed Wes Thomas in a way I can barely even begin to articulate until recently, the guy has stepped it up massively these last few weeks. He's like a different player.

I think heโs finally become the player we actually bought. I love watching him play. Heโs got so much more to his game than I thought last season. Wrap him up!

Thomas was a bit unfortunate with the header in the second half. Got up early, great use of his neck muscles, super timing too but Amos tipped it over the bar.
His fitness levels look to be improving markedly - but what a player to have coming on in Jon Obika when Wes is either tiring if not having the best of it.
Technically the game was as good as you could see at this level. The ball did not go out of play that often and both teams played some excellent stuff. If we had truly believed in ourselves and maybe were more โ evolved โ as a team the win was there for us. Charlton will be top six for sure though and have massively improved under Robinson.
Saturday will be interesting to see where we are at.

Two high quality games in the last two outings and Wes has really stepped up to the mark - well done him and long may it continue. He always scored hatfuls on FIFA17

He was brilliant last night, full of running when it mattered and very difficult to get the ball off. He doesn't have a lot to work with in that role and to provide a threat is a really impressive achievement.
Obika also added some useful touches but didn't look very fit.

Thomas looked great last night, he works for the team. I saw in Eales Programme notes that his main priority is to get a contract for Nelson,Hall,Rothwell,Ledson,Ruffels. For me Thomas needs to be added to that list because when he is fit he is quality maybe he isn't as big as a priority because he is 30 years old. I think he has 2 years left in him where he could be really good.

Works so damned hard it must be really frustrating for him that most of the time he has very little help in the penalty area from the rest of the side. The one thing I noticed about Charlton is that when they attacked and the ball came into the box there were never less than three in and around the box awaiting the cross. On one particular attack there were no less than SIX Charlton player in and around the box. With United there was usually only one with the occasional helper struggling up to help him.

I was also very critical of him, the last few games has changed my opinion of him. Definitely needs to come off around the 70-75min mark though!

I too have been critical of him but the last few games he looks like he's eaten rocket fuel before the match.
He never did that well trying to link the play up from deeper positions and has always looked better further up the pitch where he can play off the shoulder of the last man. He seems to be benefitting from the high press that Pep has us playing.

I am starting to feel that Wes Thomas is becoming the striker we need him to be. I've been really pleased with his contribution with some regular goals, I make it 3 in the last 4 league games.

I said at the beginning of the season on another thread, he would score 20 goals this season. I stand by that, but he might score more!

I said at the beginning of the season on another thread, he would score 20 goals this season. I stand by that, but he might score more! I would say that is wishful thinking (although I would love you to be right!). The closest he had to 20 goals was 7 years ago (19 goals) in League 2. Based on his record since then I would say 14-15 goals would be a good haul.
