Just listened to his interview on Talksport FL72. He was asked why games like Carlisle v Exeter is scheduled for a Tuesday night. His answer was - the fans wouldn't travel on a Saturday either so we might as well schedule Saturday games more locally! He did feel sorry for the loyal fans that need to take two days holiday!! Nice....

His idea works only if all divisions are equally located geographically. Quite why we are playing Charlton next Tuesday then...

There's a full article on the matter with quotes from Mr Harvey here.

Harvey hasn't got a clue. I'm sure most fans would go to a derby game if it was on a Tuesday night or any day or night for that matter. And a lot of fans would consider going to long distance matches at weekends e.g. Carlisle and Blackpool etc.
The bloke seems devoid of actual fans thoughts and feelings, and that's without mentioning the Checkatrade Trophy fiasco!

Imagine thinking fans won't travel long distances to watch football regardless of the day. Look how many fans we alone take to places like Blackpool, Carlisle etc. Sometimes the notion of doing the furthest away game actually appeals to people and causes a boost, and people can then use it as a weekend away in the process.
It's almost like he doesn't understand football because he isn't a fan of it. ALMOST.

It's probably why he wants to get the main FA job if the current idiot goes. The attitude would fit perfectly with the old geezers at Wembley.

From a purely selfish point of view, I'm quite a fan of this. As someone who loves an away day but doesn't usually get to the further away games and very rarely travels for a midweek game.
Scunthorpe, Fleetwood, Blackpool away on a Tuesday night - great for me if it means being able to make a day of somewhere nearer.

I can sort of see the logic if it brings overall attendances up, but it could mean for instance that if we move to always playing Fleetwood away on a Tuesday night, that some fans never get the opportunity to visit that ground due to work commitments etc.

Having Bradford, Charlton and Blackburn as midweek games did us no favours, though. Bradford brought 1,101 last season and only 403 this season. Charlton brought 1,476 last season - the 4th highest last season behind Rovers, Coventry and Sheffield United. No idea how many they'll bring tomorrow, but it's fair to say it won't be over 1,400.
Teams like Bury, Fleetwood, Oldham, Rochdale and Southend would have been better choices as midweek games at home for us. Fleetwood brought a whopping 83 to our place last season.
Here's all list showing visiting fans in attendance last season. 1,350 for MK Dons seems high to me - was there really that many? That's what the report says, so I'm sure it must be correct, but don't remember that many plastics at Grenoble Road. Hey-ho.
AFC Wimbledon 531 Bolton 575 Bradford 1,101 Bristol 1,798 Bury 185 Charlton 1,476 Chesterfield 872 Coventry 1,477 Fleetwood 83 Gillingham 301 Millwall 934 MK Dons 1,350 Northampton 1,128 Oldham 449 Peterborough 798 Port Vale 351 Rochdale 232 Scunthorpe 394 Shef Utd 1,667 Shrewsbury 897 Southend 472 Swindon 1,190 Walsall 684
