No trains in the Thames valley this weekend due to Network rail. All the news is saying is if you want to get to London, you can't. So does that mean no trains West ? Or will trains from Swansea terminate at Didcot before returning to Wales ?

I thought it was between Reading and Paddington. But you can always go to Oxford station and then get the train to Marlyebone.
Won't affect trains for those traveling to Bristol this side of Reading.

No they have said no trains between Didcot and Maidenhead, but didn't say if it was just Eastbound or Westbound as well. If it is Westbound, going to London via Oxford is pointless as you are getting on the same line anyway. It's just as quick for me to go to via scumland(and a lot cheaper) than the Marlyebone way.

Or will trains from Swansea terminate at Didcot before returning to Wales ? There is electrification at Reading this weekend affecting that main line London to/from the West. If i want to get to Bristol via Reading, I'd have to get a rail replacement bus from Reading to Didcot, then train to Bristol. On way back it is train Bristol to Swindon, and rail replacement Swindon to Reading. Instead I can go Woking to Bristol, and on way back Bristol to Salisbury, Salisbury to Woking.

Where are you going to, and where from? There are trains from Oxford and Didcot to Bristol. I think it's pretty obvious from the question that i asked that i'm going to Bristol and i want to go from Didcot. The statement given out on the news was this. "Great Western Railway is warning customers to avoid travel by rail this weekend. There will be no services at all between Didcot, Newbury, Reading and London while Network Rail carries out "emergency engineering work" at short notice" So if their are no services between Didcot and London, does that mean their are no services between London and Didcot ? I know you can catch a train from Oxford but they are slow and expensive. I can get to the station in pighill almost as quick as i can get to Oxford, its 43 minutes and £30 return from there,so about half the time and £20 cheaper.

National rail shows direct trains to/from Didcot to Bristol Temple Meads for tomorrow. £24 off peak return. So unless for some reason you want to go back to Reading or London afterwards there should be no problem. It looks like the Didcot train calls at pighill on the way to Bristol so up to you where you leave from.

Trains start at Didcot Parkway going west. You will be fine, only thing that is affected is the time table. For example my train was 9.13, but has now changed to 9.38.

Don't think it's obvious where you wanted to go from and to where as you mentioned Thames Valley. There are trains running to & from Didcot to Bristol this weekend. For example, there's a train from Didcot that leaves at 10.38 and arrives into Bristol Temple Meads at 11.40. And if you only want to go from Didcot, why do you want to know about London etc? It appears that the works are between Reading and London.

So if their are no services between Didcot and London, then guess what no trains to Bristol. I asked a polite question about trains, but you have to be a dickhead. As from "you mentioned Thames valley" Why wouldn't i ? Didcot train station is Thames valley, name me another station that Oxford fans use that is ? So "its not obvious where you wanted to go from" Really ? So what station did you think i was talking about,Banbury ?

Crikey saddle old chap. Trains are running from Didcot to Brizzle. All the trains aren’t stranded in Paddington. That’s not how it works.
