Only one winner if Leggo has a good game.

I don't recall Sercombe being much of a tackler so one Big Ron style reducer by our man early doors and it will be lollipops for the rest of the game.

Rovers fans think Sercombe is one of their absolute best players, say one say the other day he's one of the best players they've had in recent times
Even in League 2 when he scored a shed load he never really felt THAT good in League 2, and I never thought he was up to starting for us in League 1

Need a decent reff.
Agree Lego is a great talent but Sercs was a very good player for us and is an experience pro.

Last year at Rovers we had S Long sent off for 2 yellows. First yellow was for a perfectly good, strong tackle, he clearly got the ball right in front of the way terrace. Second yellow was for high foot without really injuring the Rovers guy. It was a bit tough on the youngster. Then Sercombe moved to RB, and somehow contrived to gift Taylor the winner.

If his is playing week in and week out for Rovers as it seems he is now then he will be a 7/10 rated player every week, hopefully only a 4 or 5/10 this coming Saturday. Obviously we have moved on since his departure and yes he would probably struggle to get into our current midfield set up, however you don't become a bad player overnight...

I always thought Sercombe was a very effective player without being technically brilliant. He has the very rare knack of arriving late to score goals ala Frank Lampard. When we made the step up to League One I do believe he was found wanting technically and was almost a passenger in some games, however I still would have fancied him to score 7/8 goals if he started every game. His work rate is excellent but I wouldn't really say he was a great at tackling or breaking up the play. He isn't as good a holding midfielder as a Ledson and he isn't as good a number 10 as Payne. I feel he would have been a luxury player if he had stayed with us in our system.

Who can play the holding role and must be on to beat 7/8 goals if he continues to start

Agreed. Heās playing in a team with pretty much the same record as we do at this point. As you say - heād struggle to get into our midfield right now, but not others in L1.

His development (Ruffels) has been incredible. Ruffels is significantly better defensively, however I would still take Sercombe going forward. For our shape and system I would take Ruffles as I think he does the simple things better, I also like the balance of a left and right footer in the middle of the park.

Ruffles is our most improved and developed player with consistency aver the last 2 years or so, it would have been easy for him to drop down a league or two to get regular football, however his attitude and passion for Oxford United is of the highest level and he thoroughly deserves his place in our midfield, he could be the success story of the season....!

I think there are a few others from last seasokās squad who will more than happy to give Sercombe some rough treatment. Itās a shame Lunny isnāt still here just for this match.

I would say it was that game that was the beginning of the end for Sercombe and Dunkley due to how they reacted after that match. Mi also it was the game at Wembley the previous year that was the first sign Wright was going to be leaving when MApp dropped him to the bench and had Mullins captain the side.

For me Sercombe is a similar character to Hylton. A wily professional with a knack of getting in the faces of opposition players and winding them up. I hope Leggo and the rest of our team keep cool heads. No doubt about it, Sercs will be up for this one.

I wonder what kind of reception heāll get from the away fans? Home Similar to what they gave Matty Taylor after he supposedly screwed us over. He will get a clap from me for what he did in our promotion season, but thatās as far as it goes, I donāt like the way he handled himself last season and personally think weāre stronger in the middle without him
