Smiled at 'doubting Thomas'.
As ever, from one of the missing thousand (this week), thanks.

The mention of Thomas and shirt pulling etc. set me to thinking. What is it with referees at the moment? The physical manhandling of players to prevent jumping from corners appears to be on the increase despite talk about punishing and as you observed Paul, Thomas was practically thrown to the ground every time the ball came in his direction. I thought, perhaps wrongly, that the FA and EFL had spoken about clamping down on this form of cheating? Aside from that area I was happy by Mr. Drysdale's performance, I was expecting to see a few cards given his history but he seemed content with letting the game flow.

I have to agree that the ref was one of the better ones we have had recently and (despite his reputation) was happy to keep his cards in his pocket.
Generally nowadays, it seems that the wrestling and shirt pulling seems to go largely unpunished while a slightly mistimed tackle results in a yellow card and being hit on the hand by a rocket from three yards away is a handball!

Thanks for the report, Paul, I particularly enjoyed the photo of the guy with the Catalan flag. I know there's been some discussion about this under another post but I have to say I'm pleased someone was showing support and solidarity with that region.
It was only when I came to add the result into my spreadsheet (sad git that I am) that I noticed we had played AFC at home at exactly the same point last season. Then, we lost 3-1, so a reversal of that has to be a positive sign - although I suspect it's also a reflection of the quality of the current AFC side, too.
