We lost 3-1 at Droylesdon live on Setanta Sports. Yemi then flipped the bird at those of us on the away terrace when we expressed our displeasure.
What a very long way we have come during this period.

Pretty sure one of the Droylsden players helped build the TV gantry for Setanta.
Probably our lowest ebb.

One of many embarrassing live TV appearances during the Conference years! And a few bad ones followed in Div II as well. Southend and Cambridge come to mind!

I remember those dark days.
Come on, if 10 years ago someone said in 10 years we would be mid table in Div 1, sold a couple of players for over 4 million, Swindon in the league below us, Orient in the conference, who wouldn't have thought they were crazy.
But it's true and I am very grateful for it.

14th April 2007 was pretty bad, who remembers the toilets at St Albans? If you went to the loo (single skin of brick with no roof and a simple gulley) before half time you were safe BUT then the tide came in Join OxVox www.oxvox.org.uk/join-oxvox/

Martin Foyle got our 2 and Gazza tore us a new one! Most enjoyable away stuffing ever..the football was sublime!! R4 FA Cup, 31+ thousand or so.

What a very long way we have come during this period. What a nightmare. I still have flashbacks. I think we had something like 6 centre halves on the pitch that day. It is the only match in 50 years that I have left early. I missed Yemi's goal. It was this match we realised Jim Smith had lost the plot. Also, I think Droylsden had lost their previous 10 games. If we make the same progress in the next 10 years we will win the Champions League.

Two things...
1. Watched England beat Australia (we were underdogs) in Rugby World Cup 2007 - was on a massive high. Then found random pub to show Oxford....massively depressed the remainder of the night!
2. There was a stage when Liverpool and Spurs where the only teams we had never beaten who reside in the Football League. How many are there now?

I don't remember it as a complete stuffing, we were in the game for quite a while, Phillips and Foyle played really well. Gazza though, on a different planet. And who else remembers the Nayim dive right in front of us?

Gazza was on a different planet. We had some great cup draws around that time , remember going to Southampton as well. Cup draws since then seem to have been largely shit, or Charlton away

That second Gascoigne goal though, something else.

Worst dive I have ever seen live. Even worse than that Brian Deane one in front of the LRT for Sheff Utd.

Thanks for this. Never seen that match again before. Thought we looked a lot better on the tv than we did in the flesh that day. It was a bit of an adventure getting home that day too.
