Wow, brilliant 45 minutes of football. Payne is amazing and Ribiero had a great game too.
Taking nothing away our performance, but was surprised how bad they were. 3rd in the league at the start of the game too.

My God, but aren't we looking toothless today? I can't fathom this penchant we seem to have developed for making this simple game complicated, the number of times our players (often Thomas, Payne) having beaten their man, feel the infernal need to beat them a second and a third time. No wonder I can count the number of our ventures into their box on one hand. Don't get me wrong, I fancy we'll sneak a point but it will be by accident, not design. Insightful

Stop fannying around like we've done for the last seven halves, suddenly look the business again. Not a complicated game, is it?

Recently, we've imploded as a decent team. There is good news ,however. I see a massive improvement rapidly approaching. Past mistakes will be easily rectified, with the minimum of fuss and effort. The misjudgements. Bad planning. Incorrect thinking. Poor layout. These calamities will soon be forgiven. In PUP we trust! Pup, I hear you say? I'm talking about my match predictions improving, not our poor, beleaguered team - I think we're f*cked, for the time being. I can definitely see a dog (pup) running onto the pitch at Peterborough. My insight for tomorrow? Oh dear, it could be as bad as Peterbro' 5 Oxford United 0 Att: 5878 with 454 United fans braving the onslaught. For those with rose-tinted glasses; Peterborough 1 Oxford United 2 (Hall and an own goal) I personally think there's more chance of Scooby f*cking Doo running onto the pitch and doing a great big shit on the centre circle. But you never know.............Their directors' box will be invaded by a colony of Ryanair pilots, making a mis-judged protest. Their scoreboard will collapse and be replaced with a man waving two flags. A Ryanair plane, with a an inexperienced pilot, will try to land on the pitch. Eastwood will sprain his coccyx, making a wonder save. Ledson will force a world-class save from their keeper. Our chairman will just save our money in the next transfer market. That new forward will injure his clavicle. The referee will be arrested for tax evasion. May will call a snap election. Not Theresa, but Brian, the aged rocker from Queen. That just about does it for me. Whoops! I owe the team a massive apology! What a bloody win!

Huge result for Pep. Not because he would or should have been sacked if we'd lost, but because four defeats in a row would have sapped belief in what he is doing within the dressing room. He also (as I was begging for) made some strong statements with team selection, leaving out Williamson and ledson. One swallow and all that, but this gives a platform to get things back on an even keel. Having not been there, and not listened on the radio, can someone give a view on how Posh set up against us, and whether they tried to do what Blackpool and Walsall did to us....

This is what I was thinking of asking. The issues in the last three matches is that teams pegged our style and set up specifically to counter it. Posh, being in the top 3, might have been okay with playing a more open game against us. The one thing that still looms over Pep is how unreactive he can be to the early signs that we aren't set up correctly to win a particular game. Course, I'm saying this from miles away and only hearing things on iFollow. Loved the second half performance we had today, more like it please!

Watched on iFollow, also saw the last few games. In my opinion two noticeable differences today - seemed Ledson and Ruffels played a little deeper, more protection in front of back four and won a lot more second balls but also better at stepping up and breaking down attacks. When the ball went forward, Thomas made a huge difference. Ball not coming straight back, able to move defenders around and make space for Payne.

Isn't it amazing what happens when everybody is in there proper position! I've said it a few times now Ruffels and Rothwell need a new contract,I honestly believe if Thomas could keep fit he would be a top league 1 striker 4 goals from 7 games this season.

Ledson has a good game, when not in the side. That’s good to hear 😉 Yeah. Maybe we should bring him on after ten minutes every week. Sometimes just a sit on the bench can be exactly what’s needed. Seems to have upped Henry’s performances as well. And Payne had come back to his best.

Great result. Some real character shown today - full credit to the lads and the manager. Glad Ribs came back into the team and had a good game; Thomas, too. Just a gentle reminder and a little perspective, I guess, especially if you compare this season to last season. Last season we were just outside relegation in November and managed to go on and have our highest league finish in years. Losing 3 games in a row is disappointing, of course it is, but patience is needed at times, especially with such a newly formed team and a new manager. Easier said than done when emotions run high, I know. Let's hope we can put a few good results together and build some momentum. Looking forward to watching the replay tomorrow.

Don't think many saw that coming, especially after going one down. Huge credit to Pep for the changes and getting the lads to turn it round. Sounds like everyone played well, let's hope Hall's injury wasn't serious. Oh, and I take full credit for the win as I started the thread

Such is my depression about this side that I have come to the conclusion that anything less than a 4-0 loss will be a moral victory. How I wish I were wrong. So far egg on face and very happy with it. Totally plastered with egg and totally ecstatic

Defeat looms with this one. First time we will have lost four league games on the bounce still MApp’s first four league games back in 2014. Humble pie is in the oven. I made a big one as I knew I’d need a hefty slice. Anyone else for a piece? Great win and alleviates some fears. Good to hear that we had a bit of a Plan B (eh, MApp? Such a thing does exist!) and that we bullied a side with some pressing. I wonder what the value of Joe Rothwell is now too? His stock is going up now he’s got some shooting boots on.
