Number of changes needed for Bury. We missed Ribiero today in my opinion. After today's performance this is would be my team on Tuesday. Ricardinho also looked off the pace. Eastwood Carroll Nelson Williamson Ricardinho Ledson Mowatt Payne Hall Henry Obika if Ricardinho is off the pace why put him in the team? There's no options at left back him or Mousinho or Carroll. Mousinho was just as bad today as Ricardinho was.

Broken record here but please, Hall on the left, Henry on the right.
The only time today that one of our wingers got behind the fullback was when Hall won the penalty.

Considering how bad we were and how little support he had I thought Hall got past his man 3/4 times and put a couple of good balls in but no one was there, and obviously won the penalty from the right, I like him out there

Agree, he had his man on strings in the second half. If Van kessel,Rothwell,Henry carried on there runs towards the post and into the box then we might have had a few more chances.

If you play inverted wingers I think you have to have full backs that overlap to create an angle and create the width. We don't have overlapping fullbacks.

sounds like it should be the time for Roberts is he still with us Would prefer him on the bench then Xemi. With right service he could be decent. Xemi on bench today with two better Centre mids there aswell. Roberts would at least give us striker option. This makes me wonder why Hemmings is at Mansfield on loan. He would've been good today in my opinion.

Tyler Roberts is nailed on to score tomorrow. Hate to say I told you so.... tbf I would have fancied myself to bag a couple for hen today. Two very poor performances on a row but it's not the end of the world. Always going to be difficult for consistency with a new manager, let's not get on his back. Would like to see us try a 3-5-2 away on Tuesday, our midfield gets overrun far too often.

Pretty bad. Wasn't at Blackpool so can't draw a comparison but I haven't seen us play that badly in a long time. The 15 minutes before half time I honestly don't think we strung two passes together. It was all very frustrating to watch.
Gino really isn't very good. Had many poor first touches, but his positioning in particular was just awful. First half, left Silva totally exposed, second half, offside constantly, killing our momentum.
I'm not sure what I made of Walsall. They looked very good going forward first half and then showed great gamesmanship (as frustrating as it was to watch) towards the end, killing the game. They were good value for the win, but then again, they were playing a side that, with the exception of 10 minutes towards the end of he second half, were abysmal. Tyler Roberts has filled out since leaving us and so looks quite a useful player now.
Very few bright spots, but I thought Hall looked hungry and dangerous and that Ledson took his penalty very well. I also think it's worth acknowledging that despite playing well for only 10 minutes (~70-80), we still might have got something out of the game - apart from the goal we hit the post and their keeper made a worldie save. It's just a shame that we let them kill the game after our goal so easily.
Also one last thing: the ref really wasn't that bad. The only obvious thing he missed was the push on hall at the end of the first half. Everything else was fairly 50/50. If anything, our man (Rothwell?) probably should have seen red for that two footed tackle he got booked for.

Our body language and the manner with which we've been playing recently has been dreadful. No movement, no urgency, no drive or bottle... we look abject. And we now have one league win in seven. That is concerning, especially as we look completely and utterly one dimensional and as though we've been found out. And we don't have the players to change the system drastically.
We also have one semi-fit striker in the entire squad if Obika is out again - a player who hasn't even been on the bench for us to date - or we have to play GvK up front who I think would be getting jeered off the pitch most weeks were it not for a superb debut goal. He's going to dine out on that for as long as Dunkley dined out on that Cruyff turn.
I am slowly starting to get the fear - by this time next Saturday I think we'll know where we're realistically headed. At the moment it doesn't look great but a week is a long time. Let's see where we end up after P'boro.

Well that was not good we looked like an average Div 1 side. The amount of possession Walsall had tells you all you need to know about where the game was lost. Im afraid as I mentioned in last weeks posts Mous isn’t a fullback and Im not sure Ric is either. We should have started the game with the back 5 as we finished last week and took the game to Walsall but we only really came into it in the final half hour. Has for Van the man he is indeed a flash in the pan, a one trick pony or as Dexys might say; “The lowest head in the crowd that night Just practicin' steps and keepin' outta the fights.” In defence of the defence they didn’t get much help from the Midfield today and Walsall in contrast worked their socks off. I bet they can’t believe how easy it was for them at times.
I still think we will do ok and I still think we have a good a squad of players as anyone but we must make our home advantage pay and take the game to the opposition for 90 minutes not just 20 as for ratings Eastwood 6 Hall 6 the rest 4.
Pep needs to step up to the plate and galvanise this squad of players. That’s all from me.. off for a blow out now, the Maytime at Asthall.

Pep's comments hinted that either Thomas or Obika (or both) could still play, despite their injuries, but instead have ruled themselves out (claiming they're not fit to play). Radox also made a point of commenting the same. Worrying if true.
