It's now official: PL teams won't be able to buy players after the Thursday before the start of the new season. I suppose this doesn't affect us directly, don't see many sales to PL anyway, but I wonder if others, including Championship-League 2 will follow suit?

What I don't understand is that players can still be sold up to the end of August so Barca or a team of the same mold could still unsettle a player like Couthnio and put an offer in for him.

Agreed, like most are saying I don't think it will achieve much unless say UEFA introduce a compulsory window for all

po.st/dWskCVLooks as if we will also end up following PL with a shorter window

Teams like Barca might be less inclined to chase players if they know the selling club cannot replace the player therefore making them less likely to sell.

As a club, why would we want the window shortened?
We are a trading club. Surely reducing the window will widen the gap between both the the top two divisions and League 1/2?
