That's a desperate plea for attention, I suppose when you are the most boring club in the football league then what else can you do to get some publicity?

More boring than Northampton? Yep, if Wycombe went bust in November people would probably only notice the following May.

Done deliberately apparently so as to draw the eye of the attacker when shooting so they shoot at the keeper. Designed by their Keeper coach Barry Richardson based off the idea of when he was kid and a kaleidoscope. The problem he has is that there have been kits like this before and that hasn't worked.

I would have thought grey would be great colour for a goalkeeper. Alex Ferguson famously changed Man Utd's kit in a game against Southampton because he claimed they couldn't see each other. If teh strikers can't see the goalkeeper then that would give your team a significant advantage.
But then again, the Wycombe back 4 are so sh*te at backpasses, having a keeper that shines like a beacon might not be such a bad idea.

Are you talking about the Mexican keeper? Played in WC 94 era? i thought PC was referring to Rene Higuita the Colombian Keeper, famous for his so called Scorpion Kick, did it at Wembley i think. He wore some pretty fancy shirts but i think youre right, the Mexican keeper is called Jorge Campos and was definitely a little more colourful. remezcla.com/sports/an-ardent-defense-of-cult-style-legend-jorge-campos/

Who was the south American keeper who wore garish kits because he thought it made him look bigger and put strikers off Jorge Campos. I remember going into Allsports as a kid and asking if they had one of his kits. They didn't. And that is probably a good reason as to why the shirt is actually quite a good idea. What looks hideous to us looks pretty cool to an 8 year-old boy. Plus there is also the chance that these shirts iwill develop a sort of 'cult status' in years to come, a bit like Hull City's infamous 'tiger-stripes' design. Both of which will drive up replica shirt sales. Also the fact it has gone viral with national news agencies, not to mention all the b*llocks of making the keeper look bigger means it is a stroke of genius by their marketing department. The fact that the poor goalkeeper is going to look like a prize plonker is of little relevance.
