Not our problem. And in my case of no interest. And here. We only have one rival IMO. Lots of alternative opinions on this thread yellowsforum.co.uk/thread/25720/reading ... so I think a lot of our supporters do class Reading as a proper rival.

Not our problem. And in my case of no interest. Funny thing is, threads that i have no interest in i don't post on,i have for instance never posted on the most posted on thread on this forum(word association). You obviously like, for some reason,to post on subjects you have no interest in ??

I would sum it up this way.
An Oxford supporter as passing a river one day when he saw a Reading supporter drowning there. He got a long pole and helped the Reading man out of the river. He then ran like hell and hoped no one saw him do it.
Later that day he was once again passing the river and this time he saw a Swindon supporter drowning. Once again he got a long pole. But this time he held the barsteward under!!!!

Not our problem. And in my case of no interest. And here. We only have one rival IMO. Absolutely stupid post. This isn't about who is a rival and who isn't ? This is about a club who to a large part of our support are geographically the nearest club,Reading is nearer to Oxford than Swindon,in fact its only our fans in the SW of the county who have Swindon as their nearest rivals geographically. In fact Reading is nearer to Wallingford than Oxford is. Its about hundreds(maybe thousands) of future Oxford fans who live in South Oxfordshire, suddenly asking their dads to take them to see Reading because they are in the PL playing Man United,Liverpool etc, rather than watch Oxford against Scunthorpe. Children as we all know can be fickle,if your sons mate at school is bigging up Reading, wearing their shirt, going to watch them in the PL,suddenly your son/daughter wants to do the same. Reading missing out on the PL can only be good for our core support in South Oxfordshire. But to you its "not our problem"

Interesting that Huddersfield have a really small wage bill. They didn't score a goal in open play during the play offs and were the first team to go up with a negative goal difference. They haven't overspent their budget so good luck to them. Reading on the other hand.....no wonder John Madejski looked so concerned at the end

Ward (GK) Mooy (CM) and Brown (CAM) all started with Palmer (CAM) coming off the bench, Palmer probably would've started the game had it not been for injury as well. Unless they make some big changes, I can't see them not getting relegated, probably in dead last

Worth noting it was a local lad from BBL who missed the vital pen - Jordan Obita. Was never an Oxford fan, has been with Reading since he was 8.

Put me in the I don't give a shit camp. Never has my enjoyment of football and supporting Oxford depended on the success (or lack of it) of another team.
It's always wonderful to beat Swindon because of the atmosphere. But the mentality that gives some people joy out of another teams demise isn't something I have. I can pretend to be happy but when I really think about it, it gives me nothing.

I was chuffed with yesterday's result for a couple of reasons.
I only caught the latter stages of our rivalry when we were on a relatively level playing field, and enjoyed our games at Elm Park. Yes Swindon is the big one for me, but they are definitely 2nd on my list.
Also the last thing we needed was our closest competitor geographically getting their mitts on the huge Premier League funds and the subsequent parachute payments. That would just make it even harder for us to attract and keep the best local talent.

Having moved to Wallingford from north Berkshire 2 years ago, it is refreshing to see so many young lads wearing Oxford shirts. More Oufc than rfc. Had rfc gone up I think that shift would change in favour of rfc.

The age thing is also a irrelevant argument.
When I was a kid my dad took to my first game and I was told we hate Swindon and Reading. It was simple as that.
He didn't say you pick up your rivals depending on who you play regularly in the league.
You can hate one more the other but all this orient, Wycombe and Dagenham stuff is absolute bollocks.
You picked this team so you inherit it's rival.

Most of the people who say they feel nothing for Reading are just trolling now because it gets a rise. Anybody with even the most basic grasp on our club's history will know that Reading are very much our secondary rival behind Swindon. It isn't even up for debate - it's fact.
Ignore them.

Walking round town there is the odd unfortunate kid wearing a rfc shirt, but again, see more kids wearing Oufc.
