There is an article on the BBC website about a Russian team who have been promoted the the top division in Russia for the first time who have a 11,000 mile round trip to Moscow for league games. The article mentions Carlisle V Plymouth and the travel time the supporters face. In the article this match is 'lower league'. Really, the fourth tier o English football is lower league? Do they not know how many tiers here are below these two teams? I woul d say they are 'upper' league not lower.
Sorry not able to do a link on an iPad.😔

All the media care about is the Premiership, the teams who have been relegated into the championship and their efforts to get back.

Tbh it is lower league? Not sure what you're on about? Exactly. Anything below L2 in this country we refer to as non league.
