If only i'd have thought about it before voting leave ? The BBC news are discussing whether Brexit will affect our chances of winning Eurovision ? God i never thought of that, why didn't Cameron campaign on that theme ? Millions would have changed their minds.

The worst thing about this, is that you Brexiteers have now made future editions of Football Manager twice as hard. I used to have a proven strategy of having my scouts scouring Eastern Europe for cheap talent. Now they are going to require bloody work-permits, which the Home Office are going to almost certainly refuse because we're Oxford United, and not Manchester f**king United. DISGRACE!!!

What I don't get is how we can possibly be any less likely to win that shitty contest than before?

Bizarrely I am convinced that without Eurovision we would never have left the EU.
When they introduced the ability of citizens to vote for their preferred song we all saw what utter bastards they all were. Always voting for their neighbours no matter how shite the song AND we learned just how much they hate us despite us shovelling money their way.
We used to thing Europeans were just like us. We saw them as fair minded, rational citizens of a trading bloc. Then we found out they were fickle, biased and naturally unjust in their decision making.
When Wogan left Eurovision because it was too corrupt in a very real sense he took the nation psychologically out too.
My wife doesn't agree with me on any of the above admittedly but I actually do believe it and said so at the time.

Actually, crazily, Eurovision is the perfect barometer to judge how we are regarded in Europe. Forget the f*cking songs, it's a popularity contest.

Don't usually watch it, but enjoyed it this year. Moldova was definitely my winner, it was bloody hilarious.

I love Eurovision, The Croatian offering was hilarious this year.
I'm sure the Independent and Buzzfeed had some story lined up for when we came last with no points, in some bizarre attempt to link Eurovision with Brexit. Thought our song was actually quite well performed, despite being a terrible song.

I know this sounds a bit conspiracy theorist but I reckon our entry would have top three if it was any other country.

Nope, this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
