Forest would have to pay a substantial fee for Nelson, I wouldn't have thought that they could afford him. £2 Mill+ If a Championship club did make a bid there could be a bit of a bidding war once clubs knew that he might be available. That is my take unless their owner has dropped his price and additional demands for the club that have put off other buyers previously so they get a new owner. They have signed players with transfer fees but they have had to sell 1st to cover the fees (Lansbury sale to Villa enabled them to sign Zack Clough (Bolton) and Gboly Aribiyi (Chesterfield)).

That article doesn't even claim that Forest are in for him. Yeah, it's Fake News. No story, just someone's vague opinion.

If Warburton really does like Nelson and was to bid for him Then Nelson to Forrest,he'd be a fool to join a club who are falling and leave the club he is at who are rising. If Warburton wants Nelson then I would hope they have over £1million for him considering he is a key member of the team, still has 2 years to run on his current deal and we paid £250K for him! Over £1 million?! And the rest! Really hope we don't sell Nelson unless it's for silly money...

It's great to think that a few years ago we'd spend the whole of the summer wanting players to leave and no one would come in for them.... look at us now, virtually the whole squad could be targets for other teams and commanding big transfer fees! I love it

Something new I learnt today. I'd been wondering why the team post season holiday wasn't until Thursday rather than jetting off ealier in the week. Turns out there is a four day extension period on the league season to allow for any postponed matches to be replayed. www.efl.com/news/article/2016/efl-statement-3705795.aspx

I would be more shocked if a team like forest DIDN'T want Nelson. The bloke is top class. The question is more can they afford him.

Highly rated centre back Remie Streete is available on a free transfer after leaving Port Vale. Don't know if he is left or right footed. Only 22 years old and born in Aylesbury.

Both there cb's are highly rated Streete and Smith. Not sure which plays on the left. Think it might be Smith who won 5 awards at their player of the season awards.

Luke Garbutt from Everton as a new left back would be quality He was on loan to Wigan in the Championship this season, and on the fringes of the Everton squad the season before that. I can't see him dropping down to League 1 level, even with all the Everton connections in our squad.

29... older than some of Appleton's signings, would we pay a fee or is he free?

That's not so bad though, even if we sell him after a season that's a tidy profit

According to Twitter we are being linked to Alex Lacey. 23 year old Yeovil center back. Coventry and Charlton are also interested.

Not that I have any inside information, but just looking up last season's record on Soccerbase it shows us he played 47 games, scored 4 goals, only got 3 yellow cards and no red ones. It doesn't mention height or "favourite" foot.

Done some further digging, apparently he is described as " capable of playing the ball out from the back, strong in the air and reads the game exceptionally well" sounds very much like the sort of defender that MAPP goes for.

Sorry I may have missed something but where did you see/hear "that Raglan has gone"? I know he has been formally released by Chesterfield but have not seen that he has signed for anyone else and after 3 very decent end of season performances would have thought he sits well up in MApp's thinking for next year.

Aberdeen signed Hull city winger today. Possibly he's a replacement for Niall McGinn if he leaves. Makes a move for him a little more likely than before.

Well he's not at any club after leaving Chesterfield and we haven't confirmed anything so at this point he has to be considered gone
