Thought I would pop in to see what was available and wish I had not bothered!
When will the club understand that decent retail merchandise is vital?

Got something against garden gnomes have we?
I think the problem with merchandising is that people want lots of different things. I bet lots of people on this forum would want loads of different types of stuff and it would be difficult to find a consensus.

Wandered into some Vale fans coming in t'shop as we came out, before the game. "Bloooody 'ell, is this it?" they said. Clearly their club's got its priorities right

Where are the Oxford/Monaco half & half scarfs. Surely a missed opportunity.

Thought I would pop in to see what was available and wish I had not bothered! When will the club understand that decent retail merchandise is vital? What would you suggest they sell then? I was in Sports direct in Botley on Sunday, browsing round the store while my son tried to find the most expensive trainers on the planet. Now i know SD are the largest retailer of sports goods in Europe,so will have a huge selection of football club merchandise. But surely its not that difficult to source where SD get these goods manufactured and approach them about getting some Oxford merchandise made ? Manu training tops,Liverpool pint glasses and bottle openers,Arsenal dart flights (with a picture of Arsene Wenger to put on the dart board) etc etc. The other alternative is to allow SD to sell Oxford merchandise, how many people out there who are local people, who although they support/have a passing interest in OUFC,never/rarely go to games,so don't come in contact with Oxford merchandise. If only small percentage of these parents when in SD, persuaded their children to buy an Oxford shirt rather than a Barcelona one,it would be beneficial to the club. I don't know the financial side (apart from the Rangers deal) but i'm sure PL clubs get money from SD for selling their merchandise. I was in SD in Magdellan street years ago when the plastics were in the PL,i was disgusted to find that although they didn't sell Oxford shirts,Reading shirts were on display and readily available.

We should be groundbreaking and not sell any tat in our club shop, in fact it should a bespoke tailors (probably the first in greater leys) and we should be encouraging our fans to dress better, the mark up on the clothes would be a lot more as well as they would still be made by the same 7 year old Chinese girl in a sweat shop. I dream of a day when the kassam is polyester free.

Shame we didn't go for the white suit option like Liverpool did in 1996
