I was lucky enough to be invited to EFL Cup Final today.
Was the first time I have seen Zlatan play live.
He is phenomenal. 35 years old but was the strongest, fittest player on the pitch. He was excellent defensively as well.
Almost as good as Maguire in fact π.
Good game too. But some of the players aren't all that. Rojo is possibly the worst left back I've seen all season.
Man U supporters as cocky and conceited as ever.

There are only a handful of outfield top players who can still remain as effective as ever after the age of 35. Teddy Sheringham would be one but Zlatan beats even him hands down.
I'm amazed at how quick he is still. His size certainly helps but he can really gallop away from players 10 years his junior at times.
Defoe is another who I thought would be washed up by 30. He's still as quick as ever. It could be a new era of Indian summers for the older generation.

Motivation to win and passion for the game is what keeps them going. A certain Evertonian on Man Us bench has the opposite attitude it seems

But doesn't run, doesn't close down and covers less ground than Rooney,so don't know where fittest comes from ?

Watched the game yesterday - think it's the first time I've seen Man U play this season.
Based on their recent run, I'd thought they would be much improved from last season.....but they looked like the same thoroughly mediocre team. Only difference is they've now added a truly world class player to the mix who single-handedly won them a game that, on balance of play, they should have lost.
Mourinho has a lot of work to do to turn them into a truly top side anyways - but if Zlatan decides that one season in Manchester is enough for him, then that job gets even bigger.

He was constantly closing down the Saints central defenders. A minute before he scored the winner he was heading the ball off the line at the other end. I've seen Rooney play live quite a few times and his pace and his tracking back doesn't compare with Zlatan. Man Utd almost a one man team. PS Pogba is a great athlete but in all honesty nothing special on the ball. Well I'm at it, Redmond is a fine player. He'll need a move to be an England regular though.

Redmond is a very under rated player IMO. He is probably one of the best players I've seen in a training session. Like you say though, he needs to move to a bigger club to become a regular England player. Arsenal or Liverpool would do well to sign him.

From what I've seen on telly, Man U have got three good players only.....Pog, Micky Tear Ian and Ibrahimovic. Only three. But they are undefeated since god knows when and could easily get in the top four soon. Let's be honest: Pogba would get into any of our Prem. sides, as would 'grandad' Zlatan.

He'll need a move to be an England regular though. I have always been impressed with Redmond. One of the things that has surprised me a little has been the fact that Sourthgate, who used Redmond in his U21 team has not played him at full International level. He seems keener to play Lingard for some reason. A shame that a player has to play for a 'big club' to get into the England team (the same for Keane at Burnley I guess).

You could be forgiven for thinking that Ibrahimovic would have pitched up at Old Trafford and just gone through the motions, easing himself into retirement. But he has come to England with a real swagger. At times, his football has been him at his very best.

If you want an athlete in midfield, Pogba is your man. Not sure he does much else than run around like a headless chicken.

Guess you've not paid much attention to the overall stats of Pogba then? Certainly more that a headless chicken...
