Hi all
For info, the email below was sent to members this evening and we thought it right and proper to pop it on here too.
Now lets hope for a signing or 2 for our wonderful football club tonight. Onwards and upwards!
(oh, and it's just 5 sleeps till Swindon!)
COYY's
OxVox Committee Announcement
Hi all
I am pleased to confirm that Stewart Donald has joined the OxVox Committee as a co-opted member.
Stewart will be well known to many of you and has been a friend of the Trust for many years and is also a life member of OxVox.
Stewarts exceptional breadth of experience will be invaluable to your committee as we continue to work on various projects, including of course, the Kassam Stadium.
I’m sure you’ll all join me in welcoming Stewart on board!
Kind regards
Jem (OxVox Chair)

May I be the first to start a rumour about a ground share with Eastleigh?

With Stewart's experience of developing and running a successful football club, this can only be seen as a positive step and really should be perceived as such by all fans concerned about the future of Oxford United.

He was on BBC Oxford at half time today. Said that DE had given his blessing (which DE confirmed in a shortish statement at full time).
Said he thought a deal was relatively close from what he knew and it felt like now or never.
Bringing his business acumen to proceedings and also suggested that he might put money in to "get it over the line."
All very encouraging.

Tremendous news and highly complimentary of the work that the committee has carried out so far. Stewart Donald must be already a very busy man and for him to care enough to devote time to OxVox is a true endorsement of the direction and progress that the committee have taken to settle the stadium ownership.

Encouraging news, and eases the worries over the stadium and whether DE would back such a move. Stewart Donald is obviously 'One of our own' and if he could forge a partnership with DE the future prospects for OUFC look very exciting. Brilliant day, this latest news, a new signing, into the checkatrade semi-finals all while still salivating over our FAC win and performance on Saturday!!!
Proud of U's!!!

A win Sunday would round off a pretty perfect 8 days.

Great news. Having Stewart on board can only help.
I heard his interview with RO after this evening's game. He suggested that this would be the best chance of getting the ground and things are close.
Let's hope all parties are successful. Critical times for the football club ....

Well done OxVox. A smart move all round and thanks Stewart for stepping into the breach when you clearly have plenty of football matters on your mind already!

It certainly gives the committee a bit of gravitas. I think the impression that some people have is that they (they oxvox committee) are just bumbling amateurs being strung along by FK, OCC etc. Stewart's involvement should allay those fears?

You would hope so, although it wasn't true in the first place!

I have just mentioned this fact to the Oxford Mail Zero. I should have mentioned it last night too!!! The Oxvox committee has some very successful and able business people on it already. They have got the deal this far and are quite capable of getting it over the line - I just want to do my bit as a fan like them. They are a very committed able group of people though and deserve the respect of us all.

I have to say it came across that way on the interview last night even if you didn't put it in those terms. I think some people will never be convinced that OxVox are anything other than bungling amateurs who have never encountered a businessman in their lives. Some I fear would rather the chance to say I told you so than see us move forward. As I said earlier, well done OxVox and thanks Stewart and anyone else prepared to help in any way they can to move this forward. My suggestion for anyone who can't help directly, join OxVox and make your voice heard. Would be great to see membership grow on the back of this.
