www.uefa.com/community/news/newsid=2079553.htmlUEFA have created a promotion and relegation-based league tournament for the international game, apparently To Help combat boring friendlies. Another tournament England can underachieve in then...

The looks like a lot of fun.
For UEFAs money men. Can't think players will give a toss though.

It took two attempts for me to find the patience to read through but I think that actually sounds like quite a good idea. Weird.

It was TLDR for me. I could get the gist from one of the images

What a load of b*llocks. There is already a UEFA nations tournament called the Euros, why add to an already congested fixture calendar? UEFA say that it cuts out 'meaningless friendlies'. They are not 'meaningless friendlies' - it gives coaches the chance to try out new strategies, new tactics and even new up-and-coming players to see whether they have any gems that they need to keep an eye on.
I also don't like the idea of the winner of League D getting a ticket to Euro 2020 at the expense of some team who finishes 2nd in their group within League A. With the greatest of respect to them, countries like Leichtenstein, Malta, San Marino, Andorra have absolutely no place in the final stages. They need to earn the right to be there - a bit like Wales, Northern Ireland and Iceland did. It's a bit like letting in the Conference winners into the Europa League. A joke!

Can't believe I'm saying this about a proposal by a modern football authority but this sounds like an okay idea.
Not much bothered by the national team in general but friendly matches really plumb the depth of dullness. A bit of a competition can only improve things surely.

I like it.
It's insanely convoluted and complex. But I enjoy insanely convoluted and complex things.
The only thing that doesn't make much sense is the Euro qualification business. Firstly because - as Boogaloo says - it guarantees a Euro spot to a real minnow (which could be fun, but isn't exactly fair) And secondly because you would expect most of the teams in League A to have already qualified for the Euros. So the playoffs are going to end up being a weird amalgamation of groups, and you could be penalized for doing well in a 'lower' group by having to play in the playoffs against non-qualified teams from the 'League' above.
Also, no more friendlies is always a good thing.
