Plymouth are playing this incredibly unadventurously. They are facing a very young Liverpool team and are just sitting there waiting for Liverpool to score. I'd hope we would have a different attitude if (when?) facing a big club!

I'd hope we would have a different attitude if (when?) facing a big club! My thoughts exactly. Very disappointed in Plymouth, if they showed some intent and took the game to Liverpool they might have some joy, but their ultra defensive attitude against a very weakened team is totally against the spirit of the cup. Great support from the 'Green Army' pity their team hasn't given them much to cheer about. I'm certain faced with the same circumstances and Liverpool team we would show a lot more ambition, and I'd fancy a flutter on us!!

The commentators seem a bit baffled as to why the game is so one sided maybe it's because it's a premier league side at home to a league 2 side. A strange choice of game to televise I hope Plymouth can hold out and maybe nick a goal on the break

Good effort from Argyle, judging from the stats it looks as if the parked the bus.
If they can strengthen their squad with the cash from this game (& replay) you'd think they'll get promoted this season.

They not only parked the bus, they took the wheels off and put it up on bricks.
I suppose the end justified the means, in that they will get the replay money, but against a young, relatively weak Liverpool team it was less than ambitious.

Can't understand it, the amount u hear from Liverpool fans that they are going to win the league and have 5euro cups you would think it would give them a massive advantage in games like this and last week against Sunderland

Well done Argyle, they did what they needed to do. Back at their place they'll earn a few bob and will probably face a Liverpool side with more first teasers. Hope they get promoted, a decent club with decent fans.

They took nearly 9000 fans, I wonder how many we would take to Old Trafford?

IT serves Liverpool right that they face a replay. Should've showed nore respect and played more first teamera. Bournemouth should've done the same. Can't help thinking we are going to draw a big team on Monday

They got a draw... At Anfield!!! That, by a league 2 team is one hell of a result. They have secured a huge bonus for their club by grabbing a replay and i think it is up to Liverpool to win, at home, against a side 3 divisions below them. Proper team with proper fans plymouth and i hope they do even better in the replay.

Yes it wasn't great to watch but i am sure if we were all there and we preformed the same and got a replay back at Grenoble Road then we wouldn't care how one sided it was or how defensive the team played.

Proper rubbish highlights on the BBC of this game, patronising twaddle.
Close up of a Liverpool fan 'where's Plymouth they are thinking' what a load of nonsense.,

Least the replay means that many of the Liverpool fans won't have so far to travel.

Hope they get promoted, a decent club with decent fans. Why do you think they will "probably face a Liverpool side with more first teamers" ? Its the FA cup nobody cares about it until the quarter finals. Every Premier league team did it,even Cardiff did it,Warnock said he struggled to get out of bed for there game. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38548247Even league 2 Luton rested 5 players including there top goalscorer Danny Hylton. I dont understand the critisism of Liverpools team selection ? They have a League cup semi final in midweek followed by a trip to Old Trafford next weekend, its not as if they lost, the kids dominated for the whole match and failed to break down 11 men behind the ball,a good experience for them,Joe Gomez got game time after 15 months out injured. Where as Bournemouth rested the whole first team, lost, yet have a week off before a game against Hull.

TBF Plymouth's game plan was very similar to Man Utd's when they went there back in October

No. So rather than play their youngest ever side, they will play a team with more first teamers.. Liverpool have won very little over the last couple of decades, this is a trophy they have more chance of winning. I doubt they will play the same team again, we'll see.

Whereas Guardiola put out a normal team and won easily. But he was playing West Ham though Guardiola needs to take the FA Cup seriously though. He fielded a weakened team against Man Utd in the League Cup, and got rightly knocked out. I don't see them catching Chelsea. They're still in Europe, but I don't see them winning that. The FA Cup is the only really achievable silverware available to him.

So here's the thing about Klopp's team selection that I don't understand.......
It's one thing to say "Screw anything other than the league, we're going to take advantage of the fact we're not in Europe this year and just focus 100% on the 38 Premier League games".
But he has played almost a full-strength side for the entirety of the League Cup this year - including away at Burton in Round 2. Seems bizarre to prioritise winning the League Cup (which almost no one cares about any more) but mail it in for the more prestigious cup competition, that he has to know his fans would rather win.
Can only assume that it's because of the timing of the game - wanted to give all his starters a break after the Christmas/New Year period (the FA might want to take a look at the timing of the round). But it's given them another game next week as a result.
