I see he was on the bench again yesterday. Do you think he might be having second thoughts about his move to 'higher' things?

I doubt it, he probably has a big smile on his face every time he opens his payslip at the end of the month.
But it did seem like he was serious about progressing as a footballer here so I'm sure he will be p*ssed at the end of the season if something doesn't change.
I think he'd come back if we finish strongly and Leeds stagnate in 16th. Not sure there would be any room here for him though.

It's a massive step up he's undertaken. He did very little in his loan moves to other clubs lower down but for some reason it just clicked for him at Oxford. Sometimes that happens, but he is essentially a League Two footballer by trade, so the Championship is a gigantic step. Especially a club like Leeds with so much expectation every year despite being a total basket case.
If he carries on struggling and if Monk gets the boot (which with their owner is a virtual certainty) I wouldn't be surprised if come January he's loaned out to League One in an attempt to get him scoring and find some confidence.

Hopefully it'll be immaterial and he'll find his feet soon. If not, I'm sure the management here would consider fitting him in here given how classy his exit from the club was.

I couldn't believe we managed to get £3m for him. One season in League 2 - totally unproven any higher. Maguire is doing a fantastic job as his replacement.

I think Maguire likes being the big dog, also. No more squabbling over set pieces etc. Had Roofe stayed I honestly think Maguire may not have returned. Personally I wouldn't take Roofe back on loan if the chance came up. We've moved on and as soon as Hall is back next month we'll have an abundance of attacking options either on the wings or in the hole.

Also he has already returned to the club which shows he really cares about it. He could have gone anywhere on his day off but chose to spend it at Grenoble Road which is fantastic. I would love to see him return but hope he does well and moves on to greater things as he truly deserves it.

Id like to see do well at Leeds and come back to us later on in his career. I think there's a sell on clause for when he moves to another club. Maybe that will come before the end of the season

IMO he should've stayed until at least the January window. It's fairly obvious MApp knows how to get the best out of him. Half a season against better opposition if he carried the same form would've had loads of clubs sniffing round. Maybe Dirty Leeds haven't got a Sports Science team as good as ours (Thanks Mr Lenegan) and he's struggling with a knock that our boys would get him through.

Always rated Roofe. What's the thoughts on O'Dowda? Noticed he's only had about 30mins game time at Bristol so far this season........

Seems their fans are pretty happy with him and his potential. The manner of his exit seemed a bit unsavoury and I still maintain he would have developed better as a player with half or a whole season us but that's immaterial now and wish him all the best (for his sake and ours).

Roofe came on in the 76th min and committed three fouls and contributed nothing to the team according to the BBC.
Either not being played where he likes or his confidence is a little down, still a good player but needs to show at that higher level.

Last I heard from a Leeds fan, they're using him as a wide player when he plays.

Anyone could get in ahead of Thomas, he was awful yesterday. Couldn't hold it up, couldn't control it, balls bouncing off of him - an absolute donkey yesterday. Would like to see Taylor or Hemmings start on Saturday.

Well he couldn't hold it up as he isn't that type of player. He should be running in behind teams and not used as a lone striker!

He broke forwards with pace at times and they had to foul him, didn't he get at least two Swindon players booked?

He broke forwards with pace at times and they had to foul him, didn't he get at least two Swindon players booked? On one occasion he had the chance to burst through but didn't fancy it, slowed right down and fell over, fortunately winning the foul. He is one of the best players I've ever seen at looking busy JUST enough to fool people, but when you look at what impact he's having, and what he's shirking either side of it, you see he's totally ineffective. He is one of the worst strikers we have had in years. Had one good League Two season six years ago and has been dining out on it ever since. The number of clubs he's had and his scoring ratio across the board are worrying on all levels. Also, because the system seems to be geared towards one up top now, he can't play. He simply can't play that role, regardless of what anyone thinks of him otherwise, so he's going to have to be dropped. I just hope Appleton sees that and does the right thing rather than trying to shoehorn him into the side.

People questioning if Roofe would get in our team? Sort yourselves out. Hopefully he does well at Leeds, but despite the size of the club it's one of the worst run clubs around and that really won't make it any easier for him.

Bit of an idiot reporting there. An interview straight after a home loss and asking him loads of daft questions. Also telling him quotes from old players etc. Asking him about his job security. Felt sorry for Monk there

"An absolute donkey" - that is bit (very) unfair and uncalled for. He wasn't as good as the other players, but come on, he was still good. Perhaps it shows how far we have moved on in the last 3 years, if you think he is a donkey I dread to think what some of Wilder's strikers would be called (and Anthrobus).

I'm afraid I'd also have labelled Thomas as a donkey yesterday. Utterly useless in the first half, don't remember much from him in the second. Of course, overall he is not a donkey and this one can be chalked down as just a bad day at the office.

Bad days at the office to him are known as 'match day'.

Of course, overall he is not a donkey and this one can be chalked down as just a bad day at the office. He just needed to hold the ball up, be strong and pass to one of our players. He tried to pass it too early and it wasn't working. He was obviously told to start getting hold of it etc at half time and he was more effective in the 2nd half. He just needs to do the basics e.g. hold the ball, be strong, go for headers and generally look like he wants it which I'm sure he's more than capable of.
