He'd be a great influence and presence on and off the pitch.

Thought that a player had to terminate their contract before or within the transfer window to be a free agent? Otherwise players would just cancel their contracts and move freely between clubs whenever. Unless it was terminated yesterday, bit daft to only announce it today if so. Maybe he's on his way to China or America or somewhere where the window is open?

The romantic in me thinks Dexter back at Oxford would be just fine and dandy. The realist in me doesn't think he would fit the current MAP player DNA profile. But hey, after yesterday I suppose any things possible but I would have thought we were well equipped with strikers.

...slightly tangential but as I said in the Southend player reviews, Phil Edwards is a competent RB but doesn't suit our style of play or formation. 4-2-3-1 requires attacking fullbacks to overlap and get crosses in. I think this is one of the key areas we've fallen down in so far this season, which sounds harsh as both full backs have been relatively solid if unspectacular.
That being said, why not go for free agent Jordan Spence? He kept Baldock out of the MK Dons team before he was recalled and fits the 'DNA' of the signings MAPP likes to make. Championship experience and England U21 caps. He was rated as one of their best players last season and has pace to burn. Also he is versatile and can play across the back line.
It's a ruthless business, but I'd send PE back and get Spence in.

I've never seen him play mate. He must be doing something right. To have us look at him.
