Last thread I start today, I swear I thought Hall was very good today, plenty of very good attacking play, got stuck in although a bit slow to come out a couple of times. Really impressed, I think he's come on quite a lot this season. I didn't rate Heslop today though. Wasted the ball several times, despite a couple of nice turns that Hall doesn't generally pull off. He had no final ball today, and needs to stay in the centre, he can't cross. At the moment I much prefer Hall. It's a shame he can't seem to keep his fitness in the second half, and as long as that happens, there's no chance of Heslop and Hall partnering each other in midfield.

The substitution works well because Hall puts in a massive amount of effort over 60 minutes. Heslop was poor when he came on but it's not easy coming on in difficult games.

Don't think I could disagree more. Asa has his place in the squad but was poor on the ball today. Hes looked a lot more composed and made a big difference.

I guess i'm watching a different game again as I thought Hall had a poor game.

Hall flatters to deceive in my eyes.
He will do a few things well, or have a shot that goes close and you get the impression he is playing well, but he gives the ball away a fair amount and his anticipation/acceleration (not sure which) is terrible, very slow off the mark.
Having said that he will put in 100% which is probably why he only lasts 70mins or so.
I like Heslop but coming on as a sub it is difficult to get to speed for the game straight away so we shoudl cut him a bit of slack for that

Hall is an interesting one as he has all the attributes to be a class center midfielder. He is tall, lots of energy and get from box to box. He is also pretty young. In a way he reminds me of Heskey (not because he is a similar player!) but because Heskey had all the attributes to be class at his peak ie big strong and quick but it never happened. I still think Hall can get better but it remains to be seen if he does!

I thought Hall had a decent game today but like Clist on occasion gave the ball away with some poor control. His work rate is excellent though and coupled with his willingness to push forward in support of the attack and also work back makes him a starter for me. Without doubt for me, Cheltenham pushed more into midfield though to counter our midfield. I just wish Heslop had the confidence/1st thought to have a shot right at the end when in space, instead of delaying and then trying to play a team-mate in to a crowded space.
