Reading the Phone debate got me thinking about how many Mac users there are out there.

I am a hater of Apple iPods, iPhones and iPads, mainly because of the closed system they employ. But I love macs and would have one tomorrow.
But I teach in the pc world and so have to stay up to date in the WWW (wonderful world of Windows) in order to keep the money flowing. And I have not been able to convince the missus that we need a fourth computer when there are only two of us at home now.
When I really really retire I may just get one so that when customers ring I can honestly say that I don't know what they're talking about.

Ah, being an exile the arrival of such British "super" stores has not been noticed here in Holland, although we do have "super" stores"probably working along the same lines. I certainly would never buy a pc, or a mac, at a place that looks like being full of "specials price" old models and salepersons with no more knowlege of computers than how heavy the box is.
So apologies to dannyc for my mistake. And no, I do not work for pc world, I'm what the Dutch call a zzp'er, a "zaak zonder personeel" (business without personel) ie a one-man business.
So just to clear things up, I love macs but for business reasons cannot permit myself to own one.

The mac is just a PC with a different OS. And the main job of the OS is to not get in the way when you want to open documents or applications.
