So basically we aren't getting promoted this year? Only twice has the team at the top gone on to be promoted in the last 5 seasons.

Its a miserable stat but if we think we've already won it now, we wont win it!!

Basically, being 2nd gets you promoted.

Stop it. Just stop it. Let us enjoy being top without being brought back down to reality for a few days.

I could go back and run all League tables since time began and run some analysis it'd probably be positive in our favour, especially where a high % of all teams 1st on Dec, end up getting promoted within at least 2 years and again I could run points won vs teams based on end of season ranking but I can't be arsed.
As for not worthy of posting, its been worthy by just forcing you to waste 12 seconds replying ;-p

All three teams at the top are already ahead of schedule (2points per game = 92 at end of season).

Only Port Vale and Oxford totally screwed it up by not even making the top 7.
Only Bury in 2014 were Promoted having not been in the Top 7 as at 1 December. So that means that Luton have no chance!
Overall what it suggests is that the vast majority of teams that go up were in the Top 7 at this stage of the season.

I would suspect that the Top 3 this season are in pretty good shape.

What matters is a) the league table as it stands & b) the games still to come.
Never get carried away. Never count chickens.
There are three teams on 40 points and one that will be on 38 if it wins the game in hand.
It is a marathon of which we have completed 43.5%.

Based on the current league standings, when the end of January arrives we will really know how good we are and if we have what it takes to get promoted. There are some tough games between now and then. Bar a few games the rest of the season should be a lot easier. Theoretically that is.

Never get carried away. Never count chickens. You wouldn't say that to a poultry farmer with 2 broken legs. Or a Traditional Turkey. Haha. Let it go.

I think talking to somebody I know And doing my own research.. Around 12/15 teams that have got promoted in the past 5 years, have been in the top 3 at this stage of the season.
At the end of the day it would be great if we won the league, of course it would.
Even if we finished 20 points off top and finished 3rd I would be happy and so would every Oxford fan.

These are stats. We already have an immense record since the tail end of last season so we have already been tested. The test isn't yet to come. We are the best. We play the best football and we will win this league. I think so. The bookmakers think so and they are probably the best impartial judges.
My dream ending would be 1. Oxford 2. Dag 3. Newport with Plymouth and Northampton hitting disastrous form and getting relegated.

I things are totally different to the last time we were Top we were in a false position we wasn't a good side at all we nicked result to start with we only got near the top because we were unbeaten away from home for 6 month soon as we lost that the crack were there for all to see
This is a total difference we have a touch of class in all position Defence is absolute solid fantastic full backs which has help Mullins & Wright this season we've finally got a central midfield both pure class winger that can cross a ball got goals assist & teamwork & one of the best forward in this league Hylton might not score 20 but will create you goals & always chips in with goals. we are an excellent football team I do believe we should of have more wins on the board apart from the home game with Crawley we should of won EVERY game at home this season we've absolutely battered teams at times Plymouth Cambridge Portsmouth Notts county Morecambe Newport we should of been put to bed a lot easier
There's no dealt in my mind this team will get promoted with a little help - no major injuries to 3/4 key players & Not selling our best assets Roofe Sercombe Hylton etc
