Well done the Murray boys! GB are world champions.
I know Eric, in particular, will want to add his congratulations.

I think James Ward was the only other player outside of the Murrays to add a point to any tie in this year's Davis Cup (against the USA, I believe). Dom Inglot, Dan Evans and Kyle Edmund all lost their respective matches throughout 2015.
So, as Paul Sinha said on this week's 'Fighting Talk' on 5 Live, Judy Murray's womb has pronounced more for British tennis than anything the LTA has come up with!
A terrific win nonetheless. Great credit should go to captain Leon Smith who marshalled the whole squad superbly.

They don't have rights to that so only the Aussie, French and US Opens count.

The Davis cup most be the most stupid TEAM competition ever. If you have an outstanding player and he wins his 3 games you win the cup. Doesn't matter if your other singles player has one arm one leg and cant get the ball over the net,his games are irrelevant. P.S. Not knocking GB,just the stupid rules. P.P.S I did like Andy Murray's comment about the possibility of an open top bus parade,"whats the point?Nobody will come out,it will be like being on a tourist bus, driving round London looking at the buildings"

Andy Murray + useless partner would not win the match. Plus lots of countries have one outstanding player so the team element is important.

So let me get this right,GB won 3 "rubbers" and Andy Murray played in all of them. So did he or didnt he, have an influence on the doubles game ? If the other player had played in the doubles would we have won ?

How do you know Andy Murray and the other bloke wouldnt beat 2 Belgiums ive never heard of ? The questions is would the other Murray + usless partner have won the match ? If not then my point is relevant. As for "ots of countries having one outstanding player" Thats why i said "not knocking GB just the rules"

As I'm sure a judge like you would know, Jamie is an excellent doubles player. Has won Wimbledon in the mixed, got to the Wimbledon and US Open finals with John Peers in the mens this season.

Saddletramp is right on this one. The Davis Cup rewards having the best player; strength in depth is pretty irrelevant.
Over the course of the 2015 Davis Cup, Andy Murray played 11 matches and won all of them. In matches where he didn't play, GB had a combined record of one win and six losses.
Of course it helped that his brother isn't a mug at Doubles. And James Ward's win in the first round against the US was absolutely crucial.
But this was as close to a one man show as you can ever get in a supposedly "team" sport.

Andy Murray isn't the best player in the world. So why didn't Serbia or Switzerland win it with their better player than Murray?

But this was as close to a one man show as you can ever get in a supposedly "team" sport. More relevant is that Murray gave 100% in this, whereas many of the other top players didn't. Of course its mostly a one-man show, but you need a bit more than that - as you say a decent doubles player helps a lot.
