Hoping to be at the game on Saturday and attend the AGM. Looked at the official OV site and it has been down for a couple of days. Is there going to be an election? I presume not as we have not been notified on who is standing so can we take it that there is no election?
If this is the case when will the successful candidates be announced?

I would imagine any announcement will be at the AGM, that's what it's for. There may be some communication by OxVox via email to members prior to the meeting?
Where there won't be an announcement is on here!!!
See you there Nick, Trevor, John, or whoever you are this week.

It's been a tricky week or so, Matt (Trust Secretary) has been enjoying ( I mean working!) abroad and doesn't actually get back to the UK until Wednesday. this has meant a few things for the AGM will be a tad last minute (but all fine and in order!).
My understanding is that the AGM will deal with re-elections and new people standing for the committee and will be followed by a further meeting (not on Saturday) which will elect the Officers.
I'll speak with others and see if we can put a bit more meat on the above! Sorry to be vague!
Cheers
Jem

Are you inferring that you are a sensible poster? If so then that has to be the funniest post of the year by a country mile I think he's implying that the rest of us are not "sensible" posters.

I think he's implying that the rest of us are not "sensible" posters. I think that the majority that post on here are quite sensible (obviously there are exceptions) its posters like njones that are the problem as they keep ducking out of answering questions that they have been asked. Not to mention the constant snipes at certain people and organisations. He'd have been better off if YellowVoice had survived, where he could have slagged off his "enemies" to his hearts content while the other eight or nine posters all joined in. He'll hath no fury like a 12th man scorned!

Would you go to a pub where you disliked everyone? Or would that make you the definition of a moron to keep returning to the same situation that isn't working for you?

A reminder email has just gone round to OxVox members about the AGM. The website is down, and I doubt we'll be able to get it up again before Saturday.
We start at 1.30pm ahead of the Plymouth game, this Saturday (14th), in the Landmark Room at the Stadium (the same room as we normally use). There'll be some signs up to direct you from the bar.
As a formal Trust meeting it will be members only, but anyone whose membership has lapsed and needs to renew, or anyone who wants to join, can do so on the door. As in previous years, once we've got through the official business, that part of the meeting will close and there'll be an informal discussion when members can raise issues, make suggestions, or ask questions. I see there has been some discussion about the Premiership B teams proposals - that's absolutely the sort of thing for discusson. It's the members' opportunity to discuss the year ahead for OxVox and guide the Committee.
Hope to see a good number of members there on Saturday.
Cheers,
Matt

Quick question...... Do I have to re-apply for membership of OxVox every year? Depends on the membership you took out oxrox. There are one-year, three-year, and life memberships. Life memberships are, well, for life, so no renewal necessary. Three-year memberships will need renewing every three years, and one-year on an annual basis. If your membership needs renewing, you should have had an email telling you this, but it's always possible the email's gone astray for one reason or another. If you PM me (or better still, email me at secretary@oxvox.org.uk) with your name and email address, I'll check and confirm. Or just come and find us on Saturday at the meeting. Cheers, Matt

Mr Earp, you answered your own question, N Jones is in fact N Jones. Just got back from the game although I missed the first 10mins, I thought we played to ensure we did not lose and the fact is that we are getting closer to safety each game. Sorry I missed the meeting, but work commitments come first.

You seem to have high expectations of volunteers for someone who thinks "work commitments come first".

At least I think that's how it's pronounced Myles it's been a good day for me today and the morning was very profitable, so much so I booked a little break in NY. The afternoon was indeed extremely good as Oxvox has finally got rid of that "Cretin" (at least I think that is how you pronounce it). The farewell interview on Radio Oxford was nothing short of disgraceful and I for one hope that the new committee distance themselves from the comments made. Yet another unilateral campain by a wannabee. The words "Dereliction of Duty" against our owners is without doubt better used to describe the man who said it in his farewell speech.

Not sure what today's profit for you has to do with this discussion. It simply shows a certain insecurity on your part that you have to prove yourself as "successful". It matters to me not one jot if you're a street sweeper or a billionaire businessman because whilst you continue to snipe from behind a pseudonym all you really are is a tramp shouting at passing cars.

So who is the cretin that the man who claimed to be njones was having a go at?
Can't say I'm sad to see njones go. Made some occasional valid points, but somehow would not answer question in the veracity they were asked.

Might have been me. I served him coffee on his flight back from LA this morning and I think my left eyeball (it was made for me by Faberge as I lost the original in a freak cardigan-swinging incident some time ago) fell into his coffee on the approach. Besmirched his Prince of Wales check somewhat. Anyway he said he'd have me drummed out of the masons, pan's people and all sorts of things.
For what it's worth, I think he's a cunt. Always did. Am I ok saying that now Malcolm?
PS If anyone finds a Faberge eye with a emerald iris fronting an exposed working please PM me. It's a bugger to wear shades in the Bird.

It is a pity that you could not have been honest in your reply to me as I have an old (last years) list of Oxvox members (I was a committee member then) and lo and behold there is no njones on the membership list.
