The OxVox committee have accepted an invitation from Darryl Eales to meet as a group for the second time on Tuesday 20th January. CEO Mark Ashton and Head Coach Michael Appleton will be in attendance and it is an opportunity for the committee to discuss a variety of club matters on behalf of our membership and identify ways that the Independent Supporters Trust can work with the club on a number of key areas over the remainder of this season.
One agenda item we intend to discuss is how members and the wider fan-base can help to improve the matchday atmosphere for both our players and supporters. The sole intention being to create an environment which can help the side enjoy playing in front of our passionate fanbase and to create an environment which is to the sole advantage of Oxford United. We have been asked to help build on the fantastic contribution of the Yellow Army and the vocal support found in the East Stand. Whilst they co-ordinate vocal and visual support we would like to identify other suggestions that could compliment their work. With this in mind we invite all supporters to contact the committee at enquiries@oxvox.org.uk with ideas that we can put forward to the club.
Officers of the Trust met with Darryl, Mark and Michael for an informal evening in late November where we had the opportunity to get to know and understand each other following the Summer takeover but this was not a formal committee meeting. We appreciate Darryl's willingness to quickly meet again in a formal capacity and thank him for his recent comments about OxVox in both his Chairman programme notes and on the official website prior to Christmas.
We look forward to hearing from our members and all supporters with issues that they would like us to raise and discuss.
