Can anyone remember Paul Carrack with Ace singing "How Long" on a scaffold stage sticking out of the Beech Road stand - pre match & halftime entertainment!!! I was at that match! 1974, but can't remember the opposition. Shortly after I think we got the first of the many incarnations of the Manorettes.

I remember the friendly programme sellers at the manor, serving with a smile. I remember the old chap with his chest sticking out, walking up and down the touchline displaying his OUFC Lottery tickets all neatly fanned out for sale at half time.

Not wanting to condone violence but it still makes me laugh the song sang by the London Rd when they started chucking coins at the then Burnley keeper,Roger Hanbury 'Goalie.Heads or Tails.Goalie, goalie heads or tails' I also seem to remember another goalie getting coined (Jimmy Rimmer possibly) who picked up all the money in his cap and gave it to the ball boy. I can remember opposing goalies being well received too,, Aldershot's keeper in an FA cup replay just before we went to Bournemouth in the next round, 82ish John Jackson of Orient who was just brilliant all game, kept us out with untold great saves, a one man team.........ironically I think it was John Evanson who had a clearance by an O's defender hammered against his a*se that looped over Jackson for I think the only goal! Alan Knight of Pompey was known to be raising cash for an Oxfordshire child who was very poorly, so he was always welcome in the LRT.........unlike their fans lol
