Why do the pro Wilder camp keep blaming IL for his departure? Half our fan base kicked up a fuss when he was given another contract at the end of the 12/13 season. Start of 13/14 season he guides up to top spot, but around the Christmas period the usual down turn in form happened. So lets say IL offers him a new deal and Wilder adheres to his standard script and doesn't finish in the playoffs. Then what do we have? A fan base berating IL for giving him a new deal 3 months prior?
And I'm sick of hearing this 'oh we were top when Wilder left' FALSE! We were 6th, and the b*lls up had begun.

I'm sick of hearing form both "sides". Can't you all just get over it and move on? Blimey.

It's difficult to get away from the subject given where we are and where Chris Wilder's side are.

Wilder having his team in the play offs at the start of October is nothing new, its when when it matters he has a problem with. He will have another top 7 budget this season, lets see if he can match it - in May not October.

He had us top of the league with a smaller budget last season, BUT we all know where we ended up last season and the season before etc.

Using Liverpoo, fans as an example when trying to suggest people should not look to the past is a disastrous thing to do....if anyone needs to look to the past less it is that lot!
We've got history, 5 european cups, we were good in the 80s.....zzzzzz

If so he did extremely well to achieve top spot when he did.

I have no idea of MA budget, but if you are trying to compare both managers, you best come back in 5 years time so it’s a fair comparison. What has CW achieved this season, do not the prizes get given out in May?

Has anyone else noticed that Northampton have a very large injury list at the moment? It seems to be a constant theme with a Wilder side.

I simply pointed out that it was difficult to avoid such comparison given the relative positions of the two sides. Things sort of spiralled off from there!

When in this league Wilder never had the same support from the board that MApp is enjoying.

Just because Appleton is clearly the wrong man, doesn't automatically mean than Wilder was the right one.
It's a bit of a 'God of the Gaps' argument.

Sent off yesterday against Cheltenham, I guess that means he won't be in the dugout against us on Tuesday
