.... when is the PROMISED Fans Forum going to take place, whats the date of the AGM ( after all, shareholders would need to 'approve' a supporters trust member as a (non voting?) board member) , what are the true intentions behind a bid that has scuppered any decent preparation for the coming campaign, WILL THE new kit be available in ALL (as in under 7 year old) sizes before the start of the season are some of the questions that need answering immediately
.... PLUS I want to know if the current (new) set up intend to be more open with the local media and OUFC supporters?
....unlike Lenegan & his public schoolesque 'charterhouse rules', (whats said in the room stays in the room) approach of secrecy and blatant n contempteuos mushroom treatment meted out to both OUFC supporters and the local media!!!!
.... even the eventual announcement of the accepted offer from Earles/Ashton wasnt a live announcement, NOT a good start for the 'new' dodgy duo IMO

Just a thought - if there is no sign of a fans forum in the near future, maybe Oxvox could organise one anyway. It would be an opportunity for the fans to demonstrate the strength of feelings and support for the club and, who knows, club representatives might feel they need to attend for fear of being embarrassed by their absence?

Good shout. I expect Eales will want to get off to a good start with supporters, and hold a fans forum. If that doesn't happen, then fans (OxVox) could potentially hold one, with those in charge invited to speak. I expect it to be irrelevant, as I think Eales will speak to the fans.

He says the door is open so anyone with genuine questions should take up the offer!
Certainly beats moaning about everything on here.

Kelvin Thomas said his door was open and I took advantage of it and had a very interesting and frank conversation. Rather than question whether they will be open I suggest people do indeed take them up on it Then they may have to find something else to moan about.....................I am sure it won't take long though

not a fan of anyone in authority who speaks, as native americans apparently say, with a forked toungue ....... there's spin and then theres rotatating at 32000 rpm, IL style ...... as weve all found out, what he says, rarely bears any resemblance to anything factual ....( a few of many examples... 5 years & OUFC will be in the Championship,.... I carefully went through a list of 72 applicants for the managers job to find the best one ( how many games did his choice last? ....and for that matter how many games did ILs 'man' win? ),.... and as for his 'spin' on the recent two 'takeover' bids......words (for once) fail me!!!!) ....certainly not a fan of IL's Stevegilbert, ...is it that obvious? :-D

I agree with many things you have said. However surely you must give the man credit for the good things he has done for this club? Propping the club up out of his own pocket, getting the youth teams back up and running and now we have a development team of players who are actually knocking on the door of the first team.

It's one thing to talk the talk, let's see if they can walk the walk. An open door in which he'll say the right things means nothing to me. We've had the "right things" said to us for years and years, only for 99% of it coming to nothing.
The years of hurt and disappointment are racking up and you can feel it amongst the fans. Our younger supporters deserve to see some real success for choosing to follow their local team through the bad times.
Let's hope Eales & Co can deliver.

In fairness the other bidders were talking the talk through various channels on here so we can hardly criticise the successful bidders for talking their talk? Obviously we'll only find out if one consortium can walk the walk so at least give them a chance to do the right or wrong thing before praising or criticising. Easy to dismiss the open door offer as saying the right things but unless you take the offer up how will you ever know? I'll continue to support the team regardless of who's running the club as I'm sure the vast majority will too!

I'm not criticising them for the open door policy, it's a positive for fans that like to have a conversation with the men at the helm. I said it means nothing to me personally as it's all words until something is delivered. Your comments imply I'm not willing to give them a chance and that I'm criticising them already, where have I said this? As per last sentence in my last post, "let's hope they can deliver", that's giving them a chance to see what they can do, is it not?

Not suggesting you're not giving them a chance, I was merely saying that we have to give them time to walk the walk just as we would have had to with the other consortium! I think it's a case of caution until the picture is clearer.

What was the result of the discussion between Oxvox and the new board? Will there be a statement on this? Good point......would be nice to know, unless those who attended are going to play us along for a few weeks with "ITK" hints purely for the benefit of their own ego`s.
