Don't see the need for a b team when u can get the same outcome by loaning these players to clubs at that level .

Thanks for the link Sarge I signed it as this is a dreadful idea that will kill grass routes football clubs. The Football League is the envy of every other country in the world nowhere gets the gates accross the number of leagues that we do.
I will also ask OUFC what they think think of the idea.

Spoken to the club today. OxVox will make a comment later this morning. Will the club be making a statement, too? It would be good if they did - and other lower league clubs, too. Luton's CEO Gary Sweet was criticising the proposals on the radio again this morning. Good for him!

Our staement is as follows:
The OxVox committee believe that the proposals for Premier League B sides to be introduced to the Football League/Conference will have a detrimental effect on the League structure. The lack of consultation with the Conference and other key stakeholders has meant there are serious flaws in these proposals, and in our opinion they will have a damaging effect on lower league clubs and potentially threaten the existence of some. Our league structure is the envy of world football with unparalleled attendance figures all the way down to non-league level.
We echo Supporters Direct’s comment that: ‘The introduction of Feeder Clubs or B-teams will serve to reinforce the system of player development that currently results in the stockpiling of talent. We have a depth in our professional football system that should mean we have the deepest talent pool coming through but it isn’t happening. That is not because we don’t have feeder clubs for the top clubs, it’s because the coaching and infrastructure is not right. This can only be changed with a strategic game-wide approach, overseen by the game’s governing body.’ We have shared our strong views and initial concerns with Oxford United owner Ian Lenagan who is also an integral member of the Football League Board. We note with great interest the statement released yesterday by the Football League board, which stated that the proposals don’t currently contain a ‘solution that is acceptable.’
The Football League’s statement said: ‘The Board considered the matter further at its meeting earlier today. It is our view that the objective of increasing the number of quality English players is laudable and, while the report may not contain a solution that is acceptable at the current time, we should continue to engage with the Commission to establish whether there is a solution that meets its stated objective, but does not leave The Football League carrying a disproportionate or unreasonable burden.’

apparently in all their consultation across the game, they didn't even ask the Conference, or any of its clubs... The statement from the conference board around all this is a masterpiece of restrained anger couple with disbelief.* ETA *and ink stains from a fax machine, obviously. Thought I might as well get that one in myself

Signed and sent on to all members of Raging Fever FC (Oxford fans team) for them to sign. Also sent to all 100 club managers in the Internet Football Association of which RFFC are members with the request that they ask their players to sign up - that should boost the numbers.
