Tisdale is by far and away the best option. As for O'Driscoll we could never, ever afford him. And Di Canio? The final nail in the coffin for this forum for me. Anyone advocating him either knows nothing about football or nothing about life. His is a fascist sympathiser and calling for his appointment is something to be ashamed of. Disgusting

Tisdale got relegated on what was undoubtedly one of the - if not the - smallest budget in the division that year. Prior to that he achieved back to back promotions and an 8th (I think) placed finished in league 1. With Exeter! All whilst playing attractive football. He also has shown a good eye for a player. I think things have probably gone a bit stale for him at Exeter, but they still haven't sacked him! He must be doing something to please their board. As you can probably tell I think he would be our best option. Attractive football, multiple promotions on his CV, can work to a small budget, promotes youth players, offers longevity. The list could go on. I'm not so sure about O'Driscoll. As you've said his last few jobs haven't been successes. But he has proved his ability to achieve promotions from not just this league but the league above as well. Either way, talk either of them taking us into a relegation battle is ridiculous. I'm just drawing arbitrary lines that we do on Wilder. Just because Tisdale has a small budget, it doesn't mean it's an excuse for relegation. I hear Exeter fans have been unhappy with Tisdale's football and would be happy to see him gone.
At the end of the day, any fan can pick a hole with any manager. I don't see why Tisdale is so rated - he seems to be a name that gets bandied around based on what he did a few years back. If he was rated, he wouldn't be at Exeter now. With the manager merry go round as it is, another club would have taken the risk, especially when he got Exeter promoted. The fact he is still at Exeter say he is either unambitious, or perhaps our perception of him is not reality. I don't feel he is a step forward.
Steve Burr should be on the list. He's done a better job with a smaller budget.
That also applies to Wilder. For all the talk on here about how good he is and all the jobs he has been linked with he has never gone anywhere - until now and a team that are currently 92nd in the league and been without a manager for a month have come in for him. I think this shambles also shows that Wilder did not stay here to prove a point or had unfinished business, he had no better offers. Tisdale and SoD have performed above budget in this league, Wilder hasnt.

why? Do you want to make the trains run on time? Italian fascists have a nasty habit of ending their days hanging upside down from lampposts. Now there's a thought for half time entertainment.

Same at Sunderland. All our squad would be gone with a load of lower Italian league players on big money replacing them.

Martin Allen would never be allowed through the door by "over my dead body" Rosie for sure plus he's a miserable so and so. From interview process they have to see who applies for a start unless they start inviting people too. Perhaps the fact that IL's hand has been forced so to speak then he may have to sack him instead for some sort of HR breach and get N/ton to offer some comp. weird conundrum I know.

A lot of the same names are being thrown around, Tisdale, O'Driscoll, Allen etc.
I think we're not thinking widely enough.
Look at Brentford. Uwe Rosler had no connection with them, had never managed in England, had managed 3 clubs in Norway. Came in and did a very good job.
We should perhaps be looking at that kind of manager.
No idea who though! Can't find a list of managers with that kind of history.

Nope. Liking the Adventure Time avatar by the way! Sure you wouldn't be intrigued into the madness? I've gone topical with my avatars now, after years and years of swearing yodas, dogs playing with fire and cars crashing into potatoes and ovens. Nah. Not biting I'm afraid! Am still working on my avatar. It's a work in progress - hope to have it in place by 2022.
