Have they demolished all of feethams yet. They were trying to flog one of the stands from that at one point blocking redevelopment of the site for housing.

25,000 - has a club ever developed a stadium so out of proportion to their support? I wonder how much they would charge for one of those stands (would have to be discounted for the red seats obviously).

I saw this a few months ago. Then it was just 1 stand for sale, 3,000 capacity, but no seats. It said the stand would be delivered for free anywhere in the UK. That would suit us, but id imagine its a lot of money so has been deemed to expensive for us to do it

My girlfriend's father was born and brought up in one of the streets next to Feethams. He (just like the rest of us) just can not understand why this white elephant was built.

Says in the article that the chairman assumed that more fans would just turn up if they built a massive ground until eventually they could fill it regardless of on-pitch matters.

But he did have delusions of building a team too. He was in the process of signing Tino Asprilla (even getting a work permit sorted) until the Columbian realised who he was going to play for...

He reminds me of the Carlisle chairman who, in addition to having a vision of Carlisle in the champions league within five years, had the brilliant idea of moving the entire Brunton park ground along 20 yards so a new stand could be built at one end. The result was that they built a new stand on one side of the pitch, off centre so it would be in the right position when the rest if the ground moved. Sadly, due to the chairman's departure in the aftermat of the revelation that he had 'seen aliens,' this never happened so now they have an off centre stand, parts of which they can't use.
