Good result today against mediocre opposition.
Won't get carried away after today but a professional, organised performance bodes well.
Yellows!

I'm not going today after seeing one of the worst run of results I can remember. We have won every league game I've missed. Hopefully my non attendance will see us win. please stay away. Can you get a refund on your season ticket please? I'll chip in to support the club.

I'm taking all the credit for this win. Fortunately I don't have a season ticket. Why haven't you got a season ticket ? I just pay as I go. I probably roughly break even over the season so I suppose I should get one. £300 always seems like a lot of money in the summer when I'm about to go on holiday. Maybe I'm just afraid of commitment.

Sorry moomooland but you can pay as you go, but a true fan would get their season ticket as they are committed to their club. so you miss a couple of games due to holidays, jury service ( that's if your locked in a hotel over the weekend ) and honeymoon, although I suppose if you didn't go on honeymoon and went to football instead, I suppose the cost of your divorce would wipe out your funds...... so if you get a season ticket you will always have that if your short of money

Wilder did the right thing with the team today. Rather than drop Raynes who is in good form, he played 3 at the back. It rewarded Raynes for playing well in Wright's absence. Northampton struggled with our formation and with their lack of width, didn't really create a whole lot apart from the first 15 mins of the 2nd half. It was a very predictable Aidy Boothroyd team with an Aidy Boothroyd performance.
We've had our injuries but largely kept ticking. Northampton have had theirs and struggled.
As for the penalty. Football is all about diving on contact nowadays. I hate it, but I'm sick our players being honest while the oppo roll around all game. At times our honesty costs us, so I'm glad we mugged off the officials. You don't get by in football by being honest anymore.

Without wanting to put a downer on it, this was a result against a pretty lousy Northampton side who have been suffering a long hangover after their play-off final defeat. I can't imagine that Boothroyd will be hanging around much longer if they continue this poor spell. But ... these are the sort of games we ought to be putting away and that we did. A clean sheet, a two goal lead that wasn't squandered, CW got the tactics spot on, a goal each for two in form players and a favourable result between Fleetwood and Chesterfield meant that we're still within touching distance of the top. We've got another lowly opponent in Bristol Rovers next up. Another clinical display against them would be great as we'll need every bit of confidence for the Exeter game. We play Exeter before roverz. Also Exeter got tonked yesterday, hope its the start of a bad run.

Complete c**t of a linesman and ref, who tamely followed suit on any of the ludicrous calls made...perfectly good goal and well taken strike from Carter - not offside. First goal for Oxford comes from a blatant foul from (Whing? wasn't sure) allowing a cross in. Penalty? Looked like play acting from where we were. If this had been in Italy, I know what the officials and the team in yellow had been up to! Re-addressing the balance in May!

Everything Oxford did was cheating or unfair play, and Northampton were picked on by the officials all game? Sounds a tad unlikely, don't you think? You sound just a little bitter in defeat Mr Northampton fan!

You have had to many pints of bitter!!!
I'd worry more about your manager leading you to relegation to the Conference, than a few decisions you didn't agree with.
Whether or not you think decisions went against you, I'd be looking about how clueless your manager was, and how poor your team were.
Still, it's easier to blame the officials than accept the reality of the situation.

Well done Wilder. Decided to change it and it came off. The second half was a bit of a non event but the first half was really good. We kept the ball well and made a mockery of their hoof ball. The first goal was brilliant, I can't remember the last time I got a rush of excitement celebrating a goal at home. Don't talk such tosh! Clearly don't know what the hell you're talking about. Boothroyd has largely changed style this season (if nothing else!)...more hoofing came from Oxford ffs!

Yes, a lot of bitters! Guess what, decisions go against every team. Poor officials cost us all, not just Northampton. So if the decisions were wrong, then it's sadly what happens to every team.
But I think we well and truly beat you, and were better all over the pitch. So you can blame the officials all you like, but It doesn't change the fact you were beaten by the better team

TWO NIL- TO THE OXFORD BOYS TWO NIL...
Only statistic that matters, I can't or couldn't see your argument over our first goal- imo it was a very well constructed and taken GOAL!!! From my view the penalty decision could easily have gone the other way, but that's Football, some you win, some, you lose, you lost this one TWO NIL!!

The table doesn't lie, you were shit, spineless, gutless and you're bottom for that reason. We ripped you apart all over the pitch. Second half wasn't that good but the job was done already. We just had to be sensible and we were.

Regardless of decisions we had the game under control and should have scored more. I know you've bad injuries but that was possibly the worst side I have seen come to the Kassam. Even if he is 17 the Ivan Toney is probably the worst player I have seen in the league.

The highlights are up on YP - without a soundtrack.
It is quite pleasurable watching - not just for the goals - but the lack of distraction by whistles and bells and things.

A less tolerant Ref would have sent Carter off for multiple offences. Dissent and persistent offending. He was a lucky boy to stay on the pitch.
Having had games where our players are honest and because they don't dive, the Ref won't give it, I can honestly say I hope our players do what every other team do and dive to get decisions. Lets not forget the Cobblers were rolling around before the penalty. You don't get rewarded in football by being honest anymore.
Toney deserved a Tony award for his diving. He was certainly going for it.
