The Lincoln yellows are available for this one, setting off at 9.00am in the hunt for 3 points... Another home game that (on paper) we should win, however how many times over the last 3 seasons have we said that....... Rochdale will come to the Kassam with some confidence over the way we have performed at home so far this season but knowing that someone could be on the end of a 3 or 4 nil drubbing soon........ Pace, width and not giving their centre backs an inch will enable the yellows to gain the victory. We certainly have strength and character in defensive positions, although we still have a tendency of individual errors.... As always, the next game is the most important and we as fans need to raise it to the next level to secure the 3 points..... . OXFORD UTD - 4 (Kitson (2),Alfie & Mullins... Rochdale - 0 Att- 6387 (248 from the north west)

Should be a good game. Here's hoping as close to the Pompey line up can take the field. Does anyone have any news on the injury situation?
Agree, could be 4-0, with confidence.

Like the optimism being shown on here!! Reckon it'll be 3 nil but I'll take 4 as the 2 previous posts have predicted!!

8-)I'll stick with my prediction in another thread- that's we'll win 1-0 in a tight but good match. Think we'll struggle to reach 6,000+ today, if we do, great, the players deserve backing through the turnstiles. And why not, we're top of the League, unbeaten and scoring goals?!! UTM!

Definitely 4-0, with reciprocated confidence, in my opinion.

'' We’ve got to be a little bit more ruthless, but other than that I’m really pleased with what we’ve embarked on, the way that we’re going and I won’t change my style for anybody because I believe it goes against all footballing ethics.” Keith Hill. Got to admire the man, pity a few more don't subscribe to this Football ideal.

With a bit of luck I'll be able to listen to the whole match on YP. Fingers crossed that YP performs.
And with deternination, togetherness, and fitness we will win 5-1. Potter, Kitson (2), Rose and the Magnet for us, and once again a penalty for the Dale.
Big question, will Dale finish with 11 men on the pitch,, as we seem to be getting a lot of red cards in our favour?

Whilst I think we'll get the three points today, without out main left winger I'm still not sure CW will quite know what to do. I'm sure we'll see a square peg in a round hole somewhere although I am hopeful we'll see Kitson up front again from the start and have a senior striking option in Smalley have some minutes too.
A win but not as easy as others are making out!

3-2, 2 nil down at half time, playing carp. Marsh OD and Ruffels all come on at half time,2nd half Oxford play Barcaesque football and destroy Rochdale. 5,555,(55 form Dale) P.S.i predicted 2-1 Oxford against Wycombe, with Clark saving a penalty, let down by the goalie, tut.

We need to make sure that we are aggressive, without looking to rile individuals, and then hiding for the rest of the game in the comfort zone. On too many occasions in recent weeks individuals have failed to live up to their promise of preseason, reverting back to their old ways.

Wise words mate. Let's hope CW is reading this. I must take you up on the "promise of preseason" though. How did we do at Court Farm?

Lots of healthy optimism on here this morning, good to see. 0 - 2 to Rochdale....No, I jest. I foretell our first clean sheet. A brace for Smalley and a late bonus from the goal machine that is Magnet Mullins. Oh, a winger on the wing please CW...

I can see a repeat of the Bury game, unconvincing but a welcome 3 points, a narrow 2-1 win.

This will be an interesting one. We are top of the league and opposition sides have a tendency to not only park the bus but also to up their game beyond what they usually play.
The question is whether we have the ability to overcome this. Today will go a bit of the way to answering that question.

Yes, agree, we've done that many a time to the top sides, Anyone Remember beating chesterfield at their place after a run of defeats?

I hope the OUFC disciples really put on a show today and support the lads.
I see that the players are calling Mullins "Magnet Man" due to his set piece prowess, which he is not exactly thrilled with!

Afternoon all.
If things don't change they will stay the same. What a stupid saying but it is true about our back five. After keeping 3 consecutive clean sheets. with much different personnel, at the end of last season we have failed to get 1 this season. If we don't get one today Wilder must change at least one of them to tighten things up.
Hopefully the defence will finally gel and it won't be necessary. And as long as CW doesn't put any square pegs in round holes today we should win comfortably.
3-0 to us. Smalley, Rose and a late one from COD.
Oh - and a draw at Fratton Park please.

Who else was at the first league match at the Kassam, which was against Rochdale? They beat us 2-1 and I seem to remember they had 900+ fans present, for some reason.
