Its a must in my opinion! With people complaining how boring the 4th end looks without a stand i've thought of an idea! Put a massive net up behind the with poles next to the fence. You could fill it up with flags + it stops the ball going over. You could tie flags up on it so it does'nt look boring and could have massive banners across it like Tomorrow We Ride at dawn and so on. Attachments:

Anyone remember Exeter away in the play offs, that made me think about this idea

Good idea but it could and would be a right pain in the **** removing the banners & flags every time LW play their home matches as they are still paying their share of the rent and would demand equal coverage and space

it's not a bad idea at all. Having said that, the Fence End was one of the things (IMO) LW got right last season. I know some people don't like them but that shouldn't mean you can't notice the good things. Have a quick google image search of that end on rugby days. Fence absolutely obliterated with very professsional looking sponsorship so you can't see it, etc. Also, I know you're not allowed to show football matches while they're underway, but the enormous screen was good too - both for showing highlights of the previous match before the game, and also another opportunity for sponsorship/advertising. Maybe LW and OUFC could get a deal on the same vehicle if they put their heads together?

The issue, as alluded to above, is putting up and taking down the sponsorship, flags, etc at the beginning and end of every match. Having said that, I think you'd be surprised how little the ball goes over the fence - say 4-5 times per match? something like that anyway.

Oxford United appear to have made the pitch a bit narrower this season and shorter in length too.

Oxford United appear to have made the pitch a bit narrower this season and shorter in length too. Doesn't look that way to me. I'm sure there's always been around 4 feet or so pitch + the astro run off. Think the actual pitch is just greener so matches the astro better.

I'd like Oxford United in capitals, one letter per panel.
Like the fence on m40 towards London just before m25 junction used to have "why do I do this every day?" And then later "why do I still do this every day?" B

"Why do I do this every other week?" on the fence maybe (just kidding!)

Whose going to pay for this netting? Will Firoka allow it? And if it was put up, they wouldn't allow flags up there cos of health and safety! They aint going to allow you to climb up netting to put big banners up!
Why don't we put big Oxford banners on the fence to cover it up and add yellow?
I'd love us to have a screen like that at games though. Like someone said, show highlights of previous matches before the games, and show interviews from Yellow player about the upcoming game. And then when announcing the line up, have the players pictures etc. I don't have a club how much they cost for a match etc. But like said, could get a lot of advertising and sponsoring on it.

And I thought this was about me!
It odd that there isn't anything on the most famous wooden structure in world football this season. I'm sure the stadium company wouldn't mind it being painted in OUFC colours.
Why isn't there sponsorship on it this season?

It's a cracking idea to be honest! And would look amazing if it was full with flags.
As others have said though, it's just not viable whilst we a) don't own the ground and b) share with the Welsh
If the day ever comes where we own the ground but still lack a 4th stand then is exactly the sort of thing we should look to do with it.

Surely can't be that much effort to put a massive one of them up from one end of the fence to the over
