Season Decider, what a massive game. If the players see this as 'a big game' they will turn up as usual.
OXFORD 2 (Potter, Constable) CHESTERFIELD 1 (Richards) Att: 5921 [314 travelling fans]

Be positive
No reason why we can't win this one!
A win by any means will do me, scrappy game, own goal, pen, who cares, its the 3 points that count in every game from here on in.
Come on you Yellows :-). :-) :-).

Titsfields away record of late has not been good and we are on a mini wave at the moment. BIG problem for us is the pitch!...its horrid, wet weather this morning and the "sandpit" will not be condusive to the "passing game" which we are normally quite good at. Therefore what style do we play today?...Potter/Rigg/Parkers fast, probing play may well be nullified by the conditions. So if we have to play "hoofball" lets hope the right players are on the pitch!!! I predict a game of attrition with just one goal in it!!......but thankfully in their net!!

Pitch is gonna be a bloody pond today , will make for a messy game , Someone will get sent off for a late challenge and there will be a penalty
Still think we can take 3 points if the games on

Can see us winning 3-2 with JPP, Craddock and Constable despite playing on a bog

Game abandoned due to ducks on the pitch.

Rising serenely above the bog of a pitch we will take an early lead (Beano) but we will be pegged back in the dying seconds by a deflected free kick. 1-1 and a royal soaking all round. The condition of the goal posts is not known at this time!

Peaking at the right time. Best points haul for 2 years-16pts from 7 games.

Proper excited for this one. Will try and follow the game at work as best I can. Really think if we win this one then belief will flood the camp and we will push for the playoffs. A draw would still leave us with a chance and a defeat, while not ruling us out, will be a serious setback.

Haven't drawn for a while now but really need a win to give some optimism and hope for our long suffering supporters

I think the pitch is going to be heavy today, wouldn't be surprised if there is a pitch inspection. It's been raining since yesterday afternoon.

We all know what's needed and everybody will know what's expected. A month ago, we never even looked in a position to finish in the top half let alone in a play off spot so it's vitally important that we do the business and cross our fingers for some favourable results elsewhere. Remember, it's not in our hands until we actually sit inside the play off places and we have a massively unfavourable goal difference to contend with.
I'd take any form of scrappy 1-0 right now, just to keep us in the mix.

Season Decider, what a massive game what balderdash if we do not win today, the season is not over. 5 wins from our last eight will probably get us a top seven finish si i would say the season's decider is in three games' time chill out people

Exactly! Adding undue pressure isn't going to help, so let's go out today and give the boys everything we have and not get all antsy if we go behind/get pegged back.

I'll just be watching the footy on my sofa as usual.
But it's a Chesterfield if that helps?

Trying to predict this one will depend on either wishful thinking or pessimism. Given the total inconsistency of this side I think I'll give prediction a miss!

We've not done well at home against midtable sides (lost to Fleetwood, Bradford, Dagenham & Bristol - only draws against York, Aldershot & Torquay) so I fear the worst, especially with Morecambe, Wycombe & Rochdale still to visit!
So heart says that we can put that trend right by winning these games, starting today, but head isn't so sure, so I'm going for a 1-2, sorry!

Yes, but the injury situation was much worse then.

Afternoon all. Think it will be a turgid match but we will scrape a win with a last minute goal from Andy Whing. Its about time he scored a goal.
See the Wycombe v Northampton match is off - waterlogged pitch. Gives Northampton a bit more freshness for next week. S**t.

I think it's going to be a horrible, scrappy match. I'd take your arm off for a one-nil win.

Is this the "official" match thread?
2-1 to us.
0-1 at half time, then a mighty come back in the second half.
Then roll on Northampton.
