Interesting to note the people doing a 'Safe standing' survey before the Crewe match on saturday. This was being done in particular with regards the 'Fourth Stand' - Seemed that the vast majority were in favour (as i am) of Safe Standing. Who knows, perhaps the purchase of the Stadium is getting very close- and this survey is guaging opinion in readiness?!

I saw lots round the Priory, but think they would get a rather biased sample there.

Well done to those pushing for Safe standing - Hopefully when we finally get rid of the leech and the Stadiums ours, it might become a reality.

The campaign's building up a head of steam, nationally and here at Oxford. We are looking for some volunteers to join the fans focus groups inside the ground on Sunday before the Burton game. If you can spare half an hour of your time from 1.45 onwards on Sunday please PM me with contact details and I'll PM you the details before the weekend. It's crucial fans sign the FSF petition. The safe standing bill is due for it's second reading on June 17th in parliament. It's crucial that this bill passes that stage. Anyone who's in favour of safe standing or for fans having the choice of standing at games should sign the FSF's safe standing petition now. It takes 20 seconds of your time but could help change 20 years of Taylor report legislation. Over 7000 signatures so far. If you haven't already done so, please sign the petition and lobby your MP asking them to support this bill. Thanks. www.fsf.org.uk/petitions/safestanding.php

Would love a standing terrace to replace the fence end, when our attendances start to push the capacity of the ground on a regular basis.

As a start then see the corners filled in as well to make capacity 20000

Yesterday we received presentation details of the surveys the Oxford Brookes students carried out.
It's a large (10.5 MB) PDF file. I will email a copy of the attachment over to anyone who PM's me with their email address details.
When I've more time I'll post a brief summary of the findings up on the safe standing thread in the match section.

I have an old program from 1996 in it has plans for the new ground and it shows a plan with the corners filed in and it says that our capacity would be raised to 23,000. also am i right in saying that the foundations are already down for the fourth stand.

The footings are in place. If they had not be done at the time when the rest of the ground was built planning permission for West Stand would have lapsed after 5 years I believe. As they've been done we can go ahead at any time without further permission being needed. Well that's my understanding anyway.

If k***am kept his pledge to 'Invest Mega Millions' in the Club the 4th stand would have been completed a long long time ago. It's all gone quiet regarding the Club being able to purchase the Stadium, might not be a bad thing -perhaps negotiations are in the final stages? Or, of course it might be dead in the water..

Isn't a Fans Forum due soon. Maybe we will get an update but I will be surprised & delighted if anything significant has happened regarding the purchase.
Kassam kept his promise about "taking us on a journey" but it was not the one we all envisaged.
