Breaks British record for heaviest clean and jerk lift.
Fair play, she's only 18.

I've done olympic weightlifting routines and regardless of how strong you are these lifts are something else!! To be lifting twice your body weight at 18 is amazing!! Good medal prospect for Rio! And yes, you would!!!

She been abused on twitter. Why? Why can't we be more supportive?

By far the prettiest weightlifter I have ever seen!
Great effort for her in a sport that just doesn't get a look in here. Here's looking ahead to Rio for her.

She been abused on twitter. Why? Why can't we be more supportive? Because a tiny minority of inadequates use the anonymity of the internet to behave like utter c*nts and get away with things they couldn't in normal life. We've all come across that type before.. You shouldn't read anything more into it.

Give someone a keyboard and suddenly they're Billy Big Bollocks. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-19059127

I got a feeling of utter despair and revulsion when I heard the latest twitter issues. Now they can be found why are we still not naming them. She is far too pretty to be abused on any level. Happily married so I wouldn't, besides which just think what would happen if you did not come up to expectations. The eyes would water for days.

I'm sure she's delighted that all those years of dedication and hard work can be boiled down to whether she is pretty or not.

Don't be so ridiculous. When I mentioned her looks I was not commenting on her skills and ability to lift weights both of which I am in total admiration and her reaction to the abusive twitter comments also add to her personal attributes. My statement was meant to convey my feelings that she did not deserve any adverse comments aimed at her from people who do not think before they type.

Unfortunately it's seeming to be a bit of trend happening. First Zoe Smith, then Tom Daley and also Rebecca Adlington. It's a real shame that some keyboard warriors feel they can act like total knobheads. Out on the town on Friday night I bet they're proper ard bastards.

He was the one who had a go at Rebecca Adlington. i stopped watching MTW because I was fed up having to listen to him constantly trying to be funny at the expense of others appearances.

When did he have a go at her? He made a joke about her, for comedic purposes, for a comedy programme. I'm not sure you understand the concept of comedy

Insulted her maybe, but he didn't "have a go" - it's his job, he can be a mean bastard on TV or on Twitter because he's getting paid for it, if you don't like it - then don't take interest in him

I prefer comedy that does not take an insulting attitude towards other peoples appearances if it is a part of them that cannot be helped. I fully understand what comedy is and it does not need to go in that direction. As i don't like it or him, I ignore him. Moobs, I am concerned because it can affect people in different ways, it can drive people to all sorts of responses depending on their mental strength.

Frankie Boyle isn't everyone's cup of tea, but he is absolutely hilarious. Yes he does ride a bit close to the wind with some of his gags, but the easily offended are given warnings before the start of his show.
Jimmy Carr is the same, but he seems to have 'TV mode' and a 'Stand-up anything goes mode'. Whereas Boyle doesn't seem to have the ability to tone it down for TV.

So if we remove all comedy that includes references to age, gender, height, weight, sexual preferences, hair colour and anything else that could be remotely 'insulting' I guess we're left with...
Knock Knock Who's there Doctor Doctor Who There you just said it
The future of british comedy is secured!
