A poster of my acquaintance on this forum travelled with another Ox fan who he didn't know well to several home games last season. He was disgusted that each time this "fan" was let in for nothing by a steward he knew.
Is this sort of anti-revenue caper very common? Should any steward guilty of involvement be sacked?
Or perhaps if this fan knew he had to pay he wouldn't bother coming, so it's cost neutral.
Whichever, poor behaviour in my opinion.

Don't think it's fair on us Season Tickets who make a £200+ commitment to the club every Summer.

As Junior says, NAME AND SHAME
How can he call himself a fan when robbing the club of much needed revenue.

I know someone who always got at least 2 tickets for free for every home game by a couple members of staff. He never goes to away games, and wont go if has to pay for it. Claims to be a massive fan too

He just don't go does he? I don't think he even exists. For a while now I've been of the belief that he's just a multi.

Snitch I see you're still flying the flag of idiocy on the forum Moobs. A snitch informs on someone. Where have I done that or even suggested it? This is a real life siuation which I have raised for discussion.

I am aware of someone doing this but the person involved only does it occassionally when they could do it every game. I am sure there are worse crimes but anyone who really wants this club to succeed should be happy to pay for a ticket.

I have a friend who buys an under 16, over 65 or student ticket to home games. At the turnstile they just take it and rip it without looking

Perks of the job.. None of you lot never pinched something from work? Be honest now.. Part of the job !!!! Get real, we're talking of £17.50 a game, that's £400 over a season. The stewards JOB is to ensure the safety of the crowd, not to give mates a freebie. Anywhere else and this would be construed as theft. Sack and ban them and let it be known to other stewards that it is a criminal offence. This club needs money not hangers-on.

Name and shame away, yes i steal things from work like a pen or a ruler for home but i work in the IT department does that mean that i can steal a computer and its ok? strange! are you saying it's ok to steal things provided they are below a certain monetary value? back to the thread - YH raises an interesting debate. Personally I think it should be ok for staff of the club to perhaps offer friends a chance to have a tour around the club but letting people into games for free is clearly a breach of their duties and responsibilities and should be a sackable offence.

have none of you ever got into a game for free?
At the Manor in the 80s we used to climb over into the Osler Rd, sneak through the London Rd gates/turnstyles. It was a working man's right as a fan to try and watch your team and save a few quid in the process............and nothing has changed.
Give them a break you doo-gooder bunch!

I wondered how long it would be before someone mentioned "do gooders" or "PC". Tired, hackneyed concepts. I've bunked in at West Ham before, but I was a kid. As an intelligent adult with a conscience I would not do it.

Ive bunked in at away games. Crawled uinder a turnstyle at Barnet and Boston. But this is our club.
Some people call it grassing. But then they're doing us all over because we're subsidising their enjoyment and also missing out on better players. So what do we owe them? Not much in my opinion.

This is typical socialist chat.
Grasses.
It's just people wanting others to suffer because they have to cough up.
On your twisted logic a person's financial contribution directly corresponds with their 'support' of the club. Namely a casual fan paying on the gate for say 65% of the games is more of a fan than a season ticket holder that goes to every single game because he's coughed more cash and an exec box company is more of a fan than any of you.
Clearly your argument or at least your logic is bollox and i can see no more to it than jealousy.
I think it's too expensive to watch football these days and would prefer to pay about a tenner which i think would be fair.
And yes your creepy grass em up, cctv, asbo mentality is indicative of the pc brigade and all that's wrong with broken britain.
So there.

I think petrol is too expensive so I'm not going to pay for it, I'm going to steal it. Fair enough??And yes your creepy grass em up, cctv, asbo mentality is indicative of the pc brigade and all that's wrong with broken britain.
