DOUBLE DIAMOND -- LAFINBREW ---SKOL---XXXX----ORANJEBOOM----BETTER GET SOME ORDERS IN !!!!! Do they still make Skol? When I was a kid I loved that advert. Was a bit young at 7 to drink it at the time but I will have a few of them if you get it in. Well up for a 86 retro day to celebrate the milk cup win, was the first Oxford match I went to ( Gloryhunter I know) and will always be special to me. 80's day in the priory would be a great crack but hope the club get behind it as well, plenty of good ideas on here to commemorate.

Replica kit from 86' would sell like hot cakes.
A few renditions of 'score in a minute' must be in order.

Funnily enough I saw some Skol in Tescos the other day and thought exactly the same. Oranjeboom I used to love that, they had it in the Chequers in Oxford.

Just realised that the Lincoln game, seven days after the Chesterfield match, represents 10 years since the last game at the Manor. Well, it's one day before the exact date, but yet another piece of history none the less.

Replica kit from 86' would sell like hot cakes. A few renditions of 'score in a minute' must be in order. If the club's hands are tied on a straight kit replica of the '86 final shirt due to legal shit with sponsors and kit manufacturers there are options. A replica shirt with WINNERS in the same font as WANG - produced by the club IF its ok, (legally), and sold via the club shop. Alternatively, and with changes at OxVox imminent, if the club are unable to have them manufactured due to the current kit deal, maybe 12th man fund could get replica shirts made ? Certain stonewall HUGE moneyspinner !!!

I was with a friend (ex player) saturday and he was chatting to Les Phillips. He reckoned that virtually none of the 1986 team are able to make it. They are all committed to other stuff that day. Real shame if its true.

Perhaps the club are thinking more of the testimonials this year.

Wasn't there a full black-tie 21st Anniversary dinner the other year? Perhaps the club are thinking more of the testimonials this year. That was 20th I believe, yes. If the club can't match the effect by whatever means then there's no point in doing it. This partially attended luncheon idea is just completely half arsed. If the club are focussed more on the testimonials then that's understandable, but why bother with this at all if it's going to be so stale? Really disappointed that they've chosen to limit the game screening to those who pay for lunch rather than having it open to all, which combined with the pay bar would have potentially created at least some sort of good spirit and atmosphere before kick-off, and the lack of creative marketing in general is really disappointing. No price deals on shirts/kits/merchandise? No prize draw for a fan to be given the number 86 shirt for the rest of the season? They could even have set up a competition with Jack FM where they give away a pair of tickets every time the year 1986 is mentioned on air by a DJ. Anything to make this something that people feel involved in and are excited about experiencing. I can't help but feel this sub-standard ploy has been rolled out purely because if nothing happened or was realistically feasible, certain club figures didn't like the thought of anybody on this forum asking why or accusing them or squandering a good idea. If you can't make it work then there's no point in doing it at all. I really hope there is more information and details to be added to this from the club, but considering it's taken this long to announce anything I'm not sure how much time there is to make it as great as it could have been.
