"1850: I can tell you now that David Luiz-Chelsea deal is definitely ON, we can confirm, for £21m - £17-£18m up front. The Blues's search for a centre-half looks to be over..."
I guess Abramovich has decided to splash the cash again.

Man U top. Liverpool bottom half. and what are they going to do when injuries happen they don't have the quality backup they need . The quality of back up is down to opinion. Smalling, Gibson are great young players for example. Valencia is back soon. They've got adequate back up in every position. IMO anyway.

Man Utd will buy in the summer. Liverpool are overspending big time, and prices will be a little more stable in the summer

BBC Sport's David Dulin reports: "As if the blow of losing manager Dean Holdsworth to Aldershot wasn't big enough for Newport County fans, things have just got worse as top scorer Craig Reid has left for League Two side Stevenage. The deal is a "club record" for Stevenage - but undisclosed - includes strike duo Charlie Griffin and Yemi Obubade going in the opposite direction."

Am sorry, but some of these transfers are just stupid.
Carroll, is a big risk, but has age on his side, could be another Michael Owen.
Adam, cost 500k, goes for 10mm.
2 players dont make a team!
Come on, if you got 50mm for Torres, who would you buy?

Who will replace Carrol at Newcastle? Rumours were they wanted Crouch but Redknapp wouldnt let him go. If they are looking for tall striker, maybe the 2 from Birmingham and Aston Villa, Carew
