Live draw today on BBC 2 at 15:00
''Worst group scenario' GERMANY, COSTA RICA, ENGLAND, NIGERIA. 'Best group scenario' RUSSIA, IRAN, ENGLAND, PANAMA.
The draw takes place in the State Kremlin Palace.
One of the biggest challenges facing all the teams will be the distances between matches, England's training HQ is in Repino. If, for instance, they get drawn in group C it could see them facing an epic trek of over 6,000 miles to places such as Ekaterinberg, Sochi, and Saransk. Added to having to embark on a two hour journey from their training base to the airport in St Petersburg!!
The tournament is spread across four different time zones.
What, can possibly go wrong?

Would swap Russia for Poland in your best group scenario - not sure you really want to be playing the hosts. Just have a feeling we will get Brazil out of Pot 1.

Stan Collymore had Russia in his best group, but i agree, you do not want the hosts in your group. Gutted I will miss the draw as i will be on a train to Bournemouth for the weekend.

Oh, and for those travelling to support the three Lions, Russian hooligans, are trained and honed ready to 'welcome' you.
THREE Lions fans will be targeted by neo-Nazi hooligans when they fly in for the Russia 2018 World Cup, brutes have warned.

Who are Scotland hoping to get?
Jokes aside I wouldn't like to face Iceland again.

If England don't get through that group the FA should be disbanded.

A kind draw, if we don't get out of that group then Southgate is gone, no excuses. We should be able to make the quarters, we will lose then but that's fair enough.
Don't see a lot of upsets in the groups, most of the big boys will make the latter stages.

If England don't get through that group the FA should be disbanded. Can’t we just disband them regardless?

Drawn up the likely scenario and have England either bowing out to Brazil or Germany in the QFs. I’ve calculated a Spain v France final with a resurgent Spain winning it.
Group H is dreadful as always, Group F with Germany, Mexico, Sweden and South Korea is the © Group of Death and England and Belgium will have a straight shootout to whoever tops the group.

Obviously Belgium will top the group, but gives England a good shot at the second round.

The Belgian team has some very good players, but then some very average ones, and they have that golden generation bollocks to deal with and that never works out well for any country.
I fancy us to top the group, with the downer on the England team at the moment Southgate has a free hand selection wise compared with past England managers, the must pick players are all worth there place and fit in compared to previous years, while we should be able to pick an actual team rather than just chuck individuals into please the press like Sven did.
Quietly optimistic of making the quarters, we will lose then but you can only p*ss with the cock you have been given, and we have a quarter finals at best cock.

Second easiest group in the draw, behind only Group A (the Uruguayans must be wondering what they did to deserve that; or we should be wondering who they bought in FIFA!)
Groups D, E & F are all looking difficult. I actually think Group H looks alright - there's no big teams in that one, but no hopeless teams either. Whoever it is in the last sixteen (assuming we don't screw up the group), and it could be any of them, will be tricky
Looking forward to June 15th already. Egypt vs. Uruguay, Morocco vs. Iran and then finish it off with Portugal vs. Spain. World Cup magic!

Look at the groups it is sad to see how few real, quality footballing nations will be taking part. It looks like the over all standard will be very poor with the exception of Brazil, France, Germany and maybe Spain but even they aren't all that great any more.
To think you have a country like Panama at the world cup yet no Holland, Italy or Chilli!

Would love to go to kaliningrad (Konigsberg) to see England v Belgium - a Russian enclave between Poland and Lithuania, formerly part of East Prussia until annexed by Russia in 1945 after Nazi Germany was defeated.

To think you have a country like Panama at the world cup yet no Holland, Italy or Chilli! I am not sure that I agree with that. The assumption is that Italy, Netherlands and Chile are any good. The reason that they didn't qualify is that they are not good enough. It is like saying that Leicester should not win the PL. And Brazil should win the WC in their own Country (even if they are shite and lose 7 1). The WC never has the consistent quality of the European Championships in my view (Iran, Australia, Panama etc play to give everybody a chance). But the best teams will probably win (Germany??)

Russia drew the lowest ranked 2nd seed. The 2nd lowest ranked 3rd seed.(2 places above bottom seeds Iran) The lowest ranked 4th seed. Funny that.
Why did England choose their"base camp" before the fixtures were announced ?
They have to travel 970 miles for one of the games.
To put it into context,if England had based themselves at St Georges park for the Euro's last year, they would have done less travelling than they will in Russia.
Belgium great on paper, don't do it in tournaments.
We beat Wales in the Euro's last year,Belgium didn't.

Looks a good one. On the radio they were suggesting that there is very little accommodation there and most fans will probably have to stay in Poland/ Lithuania and travel over for the game. Apparently the Russian's are putting on free trains and local transport for all 'official supporters'
