being saved by the lino a bit today Or on a positive note, the defense is doing its offside job properly today. Arsenal dominated for years on a back 4 playing a very successful offside system. It's risky at this level as the players will often have not have concentration issues (that's why they are L1) so it'll cost more than it would a PL team. But yesterday it worked a treat.. Credit to the defence and the coaching staff.

Observations from yesterday:
-both teams could have and should have won it -Tiendalli is a transformation from 3 weeks ago.... i thought yesterday he was very strong and made some big tackles. - Simon eastwood deserves no stick, but yesterday his kicking was shocking, not sure wether he had a beer before the game but they were all over the shot and it nearly cost us twice. I’m sure this won’t happen again. - we should learn to just get the ball out sometimes, hoof it row z, as Southend were doing, allow everyone to get back and defend as we often tried to be too clever and it caught us in no mans land. - creatively I actually thought we were pretty decent, just could not finish, there was 3 chances that on another day would end up in the back of the net. - hopefully we can continue to progress

Really? I thought it was a poor game by us, and we were lucky to get a draw. The game seemed to just pass by e.g. like when you're driving a car on auto pilot and arrive at your destination not really remembering most of the journey. I don't remember their keeper having to make any saves of note, and we didn't have a corner all game. It felt to me as if we just went through the motions with the objective being that we didn't lose, and with no pace at all. I'm not a fan of Henry (just frustrates me with his lack of desire, pace and complacency), so add to that, Mowatt and Ruffels and you haven't got a creative bone between them. Our midfield yesterday was virtually non existent. Glad we got a point which I felt was the only really positive from yesterday. I wasn’t there so I can’t possibly comment, but it sounded quite an enjoyable game listening on the end of the radio. It’s funny how perceptions can come across so differently without a set of eyes. I can't remember Eastwood making any saves of note either

Not poor by any means, but not the most accurate with longer kicks.

Good performance, though occasionally risky at the back. If we could shoot more consistently, we could have won. All our midfielders had real opportunities, but a draw was fair enough. Good entertaining game. Really? I thought it was a poor game by us, and we were lucky to get a draw. Have a look at the highlights and you will see a save ot two from their keeper and Henry heavily involved in that move. Ruffels also hit the crossbar didn't he?

Highlights now up. On about 20 seconds on video, how was Mowatt flagged for offside in the attack where Thomas was most forward player down the middle, his pass (or defenders tackle) went forward to Henry, outside corner of penalty box, he crossed the ball forward towards the penalty spot to the on running Mowatt. Mowatt was in front of the defender when he got the ball but he was initially behind Thomas and must have been behind Henry, and the ball, when the cross was delivered. So surely not offside?

I'm out of the country, on holiday. Is there any reason why I shouldn't be able to see the highlights on iFollow?
I've logged on and the last video available is a pre-match interview with Jack Payne.

I thought maybe it was some ridiculous EFL ruling not allowing me access.

Southend. A dog on the pitch. That just about does it for me. I am chuffed to bits over this result! Yes, its only a draw. There was no dog on the pitch. But we didn't lose! Just like at Oldham, we wiped a bogey clean. Thomas is scoring more than a 'John Thomas', which is very pleasing to see. New owners? New players? New optimism.

Yellows win 5-4 after going 4-0 down at half time. Wanted to go but Mrs P wants to go Westgate again and requested my company. On a promise of course after... I bloody hate shopping. Don't let women promise you sex in return for accompanying them round and holding their bags, it's not worth the hassle...
