Wot? No MDT yet?
Here it is and my first of the season.
Can't say I'm expecting anything from the game. We're rotten at Southend and still view the Plymouth game as a one-off rather than the corner-turner we all wanted it to be.
Southend 3 Oxford 1.

Just deleted it as I was typing it out as you posted this one, so as yours was here first, we'll go with it, and blame you if we lose I was saying, I can unexpectedly go now, expect a tough game as always there, they aren't better than us its just one of those places we struggle at , blah blah Come On You Yellows

I am not expecting any points come 5pm tomorrow. Mind you I also said that before the Plymouth game.

Shall we just not turn up and give them the usual 3 points? I'm sure Phil Brown's cardiologist will approved him having a weekend off from being a football manager.

Here we go then. Probably going to have to defend our penalty spot headers pretty well tomorrow... Cox, Leonard and Ranger the main heading dangers. Home goals from Southend this season: The above, matched with our weakness this season (allowing crossing in to the 6 yard box) point to a pessimistic outcome, however, I always think we will win deep down! 2-1 win. Obika with the winner

We hardly ever win at Southend. No one expects us to win tomorrow. So we probably will win. I’m going for 2-1 to the u’s. COYY

Yellows win 5-4 after going 4-0 down at half time. Wanted to go but Mrs P wants to go Westgate again and requested my company. On a promise of course after...

We get f*ck all at Roots hall, and on present 'form' I can't see it changing, Unless, Pep has a word with himself and decides to change one or two things. The tactics, formation and personnel for instance!
Never liked the place, won't be there today, too far too cold, don't like cockles n mussels, and frequented by Hammers fans.
Sarf end 2 U's 0.

2-1 Oxford
Being optimistic but i reckon we'll edge it tomorrow, Jack Payne returning to Southend and scoring the winner in front of travelling fans, Thomas scoring the other.
Eastwood Tiendalli Williamson Mousinho Ricardinho Ruffels Ledson Napa Payne Rothwell Thomas
This is what i would want to see, PEP will probably name an unchanged side.
GVK could be in the squad tomorrow, would be nice just for something different of the bench.
700 travelling fans

Knowing our form this season we'll probably give them a pasting. I don't think we'll get much out of tomorrow but here's hoping!

Just looked at the table, which I've been told does not tell lies. We're 6 places higher than them, and 14 goals better.
So I'll go 1-1.

As I've said on another thread we are unbeaten in the league this season against sides geographically further south than ourselves.
This isn't about to change.
Score draw, 2-2 Ranger 2, Payne 2.
After the match Nathan asks Pep if the players were more fockused and had learnt from their mistakes against Blackburn. Naughty Nathan.

I tried optimism on Tuesday and ended up disappointed. Back to comfy pessimism today. Shrimpers to fillet our soft underbelly 😉

I tried optimism on Tuesday and ended up disappointed. Back to comfy pessimism today. Shrimpers to fillet our soft underbelly 😉 I tried optimism last Saturday, against another poor side, and it worked. So here goes again. Brown is so arrogant - without much justification - that he may well not have bothered looking at the standard issue scouting report on OUFC. If that is the case then we may just be able to sit deep and play channels balls for Thomas to find some holes and Payne to find some space. 2-1 to us.

There are a handful of teams much stronger than us in this league (Wigan, Charlton, Bradford, Blackburn and possibly Scunny) - On a good day we hammer teams like Southend - on a bad day we could get hammered. They are tight, patient and play smash and grab so we need to be good at the back unless as Phil Brown suggested we have lots of the ball and take it to them. Hope we do - we look better attacking than defending. Tight, bad tempered, Lego penalty + Ruffs v a late goal for then for the sweat 1-2 COYY

We're rotten at Southend and still view the Plymouth game as a one-off rather than the corner-turner we all wanted it to be. Southend 3 Oxford 1. One other hopeful point. We might historically have a poor record at Roots Hall, but the vast majority of our players, and our coach, have no part in that history. Other than Ruffels, the rest of them either just got a bit unlucky last year or else were nowhere near the scene of the past crimes. Pep likewise. I just hope that he tries something a but different. Rosie is always slavishly loyal when on the radio, but even he had a sudden moment of unexpected clarity on Tuesday night: 'When you are losing as many games as we are, as manager you need to change things around, change players around.' I think that he is absolutely right. If you don't change things after 5 defeats in 6 games, when do you?

We've hammered most of them Gillingham 3-0, AFC Wimbledon 3-0, Plymouth 4-0 and then a modest 2-0 against Oldham. Let's hope that continues today!

Phil Brown spot on when he says we have lots of the ball but do nothing with it.
2-1 to us.
