I am personally not going to make this game and I would also have to say any game against Northampton means nothing to me. I hope the day goes well, but is there a meeting point for U's fans in town or something? We've not chosen the game because it's Northampton, but because it's Oxford. We didn't want to tell people where they should go, as not all fans want the same #YAADAH experience, but we would imagine that the Wig & Pen will somewhere that many Oxford fans will head for on Saturday morning. and there lies the issue, not knocking you guys trying new things and changing it up - all for it. but, how is this any different from any other home game? how does this bring in new people to watch at the kassam? the atmosphere at away games is improved as all Oxford fans are condensed into small area of ground rather than dispersed over 3 large stands. meeting for a few beers in the town before hand isn't really going to help the atmosphere at the kassam. again, don't take this as negativity - something has to be done i agree.

We disagree, there is a serious point behind the admittedly silly idea: The Yellow Army Away Day (at home) or #YADDAH for short is admittedly a silly idea. Our intention has been to reflect that silliness in promoting it and we are hoping that all Oxford fans might embrace that, but there is of course a serious objective. The aim is to increase attendance through promotion of the game, and to bring something of our intense away backing to a home game. Pep and the players have all commented on how fantastic our away support is, so the thinking is, ‘can we do anything to bring that to a home game’?
A convenient part of this is that we get to enjoy Oxford, a word class attraction from visitors around the world, as if it was an away destination. Granted, it takes imagination, but the thinking is that if you get in the frame of mind of planning your activities in the city centre before the game as you would an away game, then you might bring some of that spirit with you to the game.

We won't we agree, that's why we're trying to do something - as Gandhi said "Be the change that you wish to see in the world". We want to see an improved atmosphere at home, so we're trying to do something about it. We're hoping that this will have a change in people's approach to the game. Rather than seeing it as a normal home game where fans go through the normal home game routine and support the team in their normal way, we're encouraging fans to go with that away day mentality. There are plenty of fans in the SSU who go to away games and make plenty of noise, who are right in the middle of the atmosphere at away games. If those fans can bring their away day persona to the game, maybe even sing a few songs from the SSU it will help the atmosphere. They might need to be prepared for some funny looks - but it's a football match so there's going to be some noise! There can be at decent atmosphere at home, it just needs us all to create it. No-one else is going to do it for us.

I don't know if this worked or not but there was no leadership to this. It needed specific locations for people to congregate at in town in effort to get a regular concept going

Whether it's a silly idea or not, the atmosphere on the right side of the East stand was decent today. Brought 3 people with me today who usually watch Spurs & United and they said atmosphere was on a par in that section, so well done all.

A silly idea from start to finish ! I thought the idea interesting, and well done to those trying to whip up some vocal support in the Grenoble road ground. And even if only a few who entered into the spirit of it enjoyed doing so - great, not too many can say they enjoy themselves supporting the Yellows of late!! Any of you critics and moaners got better ideas?

But for the record, i actually thought is was a pretty good idea.

It's the first time it's been tried and we will take on board the comments (good and bad) and if we repeat it in an organised way then we'll hope it's even better. As we said previously, it's only the fans who can make the atmosphere better, and that's what the aim of this was. There are plans for more YellowArmy events through the rest of the season.
