www.oufc.co.uk/news/2017/october/car-park/Can't say I'm surprised - it's been getting steadily worse and the parking on the verges at the entrance just slows down all the traffic at the end as they bump off the kerbs

Some people are very inconsiderate.
Still, plenty of parking in the Science Park and Sandford.

Limiting the number entering to the number of spaces kind of makes sense, directing cars to spaces to fill up in order is bollocks. It no different to any multi story or hospital car park, I’m sure we’re all more than capable of finding the empty space

I know a man who never knowingly parks in a space in the OUFC car parks (not me).

Would create quite a lot of additional spaces.

Not ideal for those of us who have to arrive into the East Stand car park pre-12 with lots of stuff to carry into the East Stand, walking from Grenoble Road it is!
Never understood why they couldn't navigate traffic around the back of the north stand and out the East Stand exit after the game. 15/20 mins after the final whistle theres virtually no pedestrians behind the North Stand and the East Stand Car Park is almost empty, yet the West Car Park + Overflow have to still wait over an hour to leave. Just needs some minor organisation and cones after the game!

Maybe it’s just to stop cars accessing the east stand car park rather than crowd trouble. So will be known more as Rapid Expansion Crowd / Trafic Unique Management System. Or rectum from short

Think it would be perfectly reasonable for the club to make allowances for you guys given how you improve the match day atmosphere for all. Perhaps OxVox can make the case for this.

The plan is crap. It can't possibly work. The iinefficiently of a steward trying to direct cars into spaces will p*ss everyone off, so drivers will park where they want to anyway.

They should be making it easier and quicker to get out of the car parks at the end by providing stewards to marshal the traffic, not using them before the game to point people at specific spaces!
I know people park in some odd ways in the East Stand car park, but there isn't really ever a problem in there (except in cases where people are using the disabled spaces improperly in which case they ought to be clamped).

It’s certainly a colonic irritation when u need to walk round the long way It's amazing how much further it feels walking all the way round. I agree, it's a pain in the ass. Getting out after the game from the overflow car park can be a pain. I don't mind waiting, I don't mind letting people out, but some people are almost prepared to ram you to force their way into the queue at times.

It's been getting worse for 3 or 4 years and the club and Stadco did sweet fa about it. Now they've gone OTT and back to a system that didn't work the last time they tried. If they closed the gate behind the East Srand earlier, some of the questionable parking wouldn't happen. I feel sorry for the Stewards that get dumped with car park duty!!!

Complete over reaction. Yes, close the gates when car park is full. Otherwise, leave well alone. Unless they re’mark-up’ the lines of spaces - my car doesn’t fit in most of them. Whoever did it first time round must have been on the pop.

If you want a good laugh then have a read of comments under the story on Facebook. One woman admits to parking in a place that isn’t a parking space and goes on to complain that now she will be adding to the congestion...does she not realise she already adds to the congestion by parking her car behind the east stand and is making life more difficult by not parking in a proper space!
I also find the people who park where they want are the ones who get very angry when you don’t let them out straight away.

Some of us have our 'spots' elsewhere away from the ground for parking. So much more easier.

Definently needs more 'managment' after the game to ease the flow out. As mention above some people don't seem to care if they ram you. Just a matter of who keeps their nerve longest... Going in if numbers are controlled you should be able to find a bay easy enough without having it pointed out by a steward.

East Stand car park filled at approx 1.35. My mate arrived just after and turned away. Note for next game. They are gradually letting cars in to fill empty spaces left by people still parking out of bays. But screaming at a steward just doing his job, as u are no longer allowed to park illegally on a grass verge is pointless and uncalled for

If you park out of a bay or badly in a public car park then you can get fined. Why do people feel it is ok to do it at the stadium? I don’t think some people realise how lucky we are to have such a big FREE car park park at the stadium.
If I arrive at normal time (12-12.30) I never have an issue parking the east stand car park. If I know I’m going to arrive around half 1 onwards then I park somewhere else which is a 10 minute walk from the ground.
It’s really not hard to park at the stadium or near to it with a bit of common sense.

There's always car's parked in the gangways in the overflow car park early in the afternoon when there's plenty of spaces left which slows traffic down coming out at the end. Sadly some people have no consideration at all for others.

Especially when the value of the car is over a certain limit

Maybe I should put a bid in for the club then as my car is worth more than his is.
