Remember the three sendings off, We were struggling at bottom of Second Division, it was a freezing afternoon. 75/76. I was a spotty teenager.
The Blackpool fans were going mad - 'you bluddy animals'. Think Tait went for a potential leg break tackle, can't remember Shuker's dismissal. By then he was the slowest defender in the league so it was probably a mis timed tackle.
We really lost it.
Houseman was the last to go. A Blackpool defender, Bill Bentley, ?. licked his fingers and rubbed them on Houseman's bald patch in the last minute - as he was about to take a corner.
Houseman turned round and punched him with a haymaker. He didn't even bother to wait for the ref to send him off; he just walked off the pitch.
We were very keen to leave the place.
A difficult place to go to - I'd settle for a point tomorrow.

Last time I went there half the stadium was shut as it was condemned, with a speaker blaring out Camden Town by Suggs that was around 90% feedback.
As to the game...1-1.

Can't see us getting anything from this, I think Blackpool will be too strong.
I'd like to see van Kessel start after coming on and creating both goals on Tuesday but I think he'll go with Henry again. Mousinho definitely isn't a right back so I worry about him playing there.
Hope I get proved wrong.

This is one of those: 'oh, no! We never get a good result here!' games. So, for that reason, I can see, through Cuddy's crystal ball, a disappointing result - for Blackpool! My prediction is Blackpool 2 Oxford United 2 (Ledson and Payne) Att: 6002 with 1198 Yellows fans in attendance. They will go 2-0 up, with 5 minutes to go. Payne will put a brilliant cross in and Ledson will crack a beauty in the top left hand corner. Payne's goal will be a complete fluke. Hall will be sent off, after a diabolical challenge on the linesman. As yet, I can't see why he picked on the lino. Their directors' box will be repossessed at half time by the local bailiffs. One of their directors will be repossessed by his wife. Damian will be possessed by the devil - no, wait a minute, that was a film! Their scoreboard will malfunction and will be turned off. A naked woman will streak across the pitch and from then on, our defence will give Blackpool's forwards a stiff resistance. Eastwood will give his usual crappy Clint Eastwood impression and get a booking for it. Blackpool tower will be taken over by Oxford United fans. Nelson will give an Admiral performance at the back. Gino will start the match. He won't be playing; he'll just blow the ref's whistle, to start the game. Ripadingo (whatever his bloody name is) will injure his coccyx AND clavicle after colliding with Payne's ego. A dog will run onto the pitch and give birth to six puppies. That just about does it for me.

Close down quickly and we'll be fine i reckonm

Can't see us getting anything from this, I think Blackpool will be too strong. Blackpool sneaked into this division via the playoffs having finished sixth or seventh in Division 4, following which they've had a turnover of mainly free transfers. Sure they've had a reasonable start (and it may yet continue) but I hardly see them being "too strong" or a tour de force at this level yet. We've already outclassed Pompey, far better than Blackpool last year! I foresee a score draw, perhaps another 2-2.

Beating struggling Plymouth 3-1 doesn't make them world-beaters. I think we should win this 2-0.

Turning to 'Pool - I don't think their 'keeper Ryan Allsopp is particularly good.
Thought he was poor at Coventry and looked useless when in goal for Portsmouth whilst on loan at the back end of 2016 when they lost to Plymouth in the play-off semis.
He needs to be put under pressure early on.

Lets round of a decent week with 3 points. An entertaining game with the yellows winning 2-1, Hall and Ricardinho (25 yards) Attendance: 4,703 with 1,525 noisy yellows.

1-3 and a fine counter attacking display from the yellows. Hall, Thomas and Gino. A win today and our start will look mighty impressive given all the upheaval.

If we are set to get better and better as the season goes on then i can't see anything other than an Oxford win today 2-1 to us, Thomas and Payne Just a quick note on Thomas, i realise there are a lot of pro Obika fans out there (me included and we do look good with him in the team) but to be fair to Thomas also, if you look at his goals to games ratio so far this season its very good so id definitely start with him if he's available.

I think this might be the game where everything clicks. I can see us starting solid and maybe sneak a goal before half time and then hit the ground running in the second half to go 3 up!
Nelson, Henry and Rothwell.

When taking shots against this keeper be sure to take them from a along way out and curl them past the keeper in unreachable positions. Should be an easy hat trick for you if so"
