Thought it would be interesting to have a thread dedicated to ex players and how they are getting a long.
Maguire. was an unused sub for Bury. doesnt seem to be getting much game time currently
Mcaleny. Currently injured I presume as hasnt been in the fleetwood squad for a while.
Dunkley - currently banned? may find it hard to get back in the team now Wigan have signed Bruce.
Baldock - Unused sub, similar to Maguire not getting much game time.
O'dowda - played pretty much the whole match in a win at reading.
Roofe - Played the whole match and scored in a 5-0 drubbing of burton. Seems to have found a rich vein of form,
Hemmings - I know still our player but played and failed to score in a 4-1 win over Grimsby. mansfield fans seem pretty happy thus far with him.
Johnson. scored on his debut for boro'. came on in the 70th min at 2-0 up so a relatively easy introduction.

Skarz- isn't even on the bench for Bury maybe injured?
Edwards- was in the Bury side
I can't believe that Maguire is not good enough to be in the Bury side.
Roofe seems to be really finding form which is good to see. COD apparently had a decent game as well. Maybe the two of them are adjusting to the Championship.

Maguire is a good player but he isn't as good as people make out. Bury have a big squad with some very good players. Maguire is a player that needs to be the main man and almost given a free role in the side. He might not get that at Bury.

O'Dowda also came on for twenty minutes for Ireland last week. Maybe finding his feet in his second season at that level?
More importantly, I think it's a sign of how far we've come as a football club in the last 2-3 years. Used to be, only a few years ago, that our ex-players would be seen next turning out for Telford, Gravesend or Oxford City.
Now we've got half a dozen players from the last couple of years lacing it up in the Championship.
Good times, and should help us continue to attract ambitious, talented young players.

Because i look back on ex OXFORD players and think,"we got a great price for him" "f@@k me how did we let him go that cheap" "Good luck on the lad,he always gave his all for Oxford, i hope he does well in the future" etc etc On the other hand, Why should i care if an ex MK Dons player isn't getting a game for Sheffield United ? Or even worse an ex Everton player who turned us down for Fleetwood. Why didn't Martinez get a mention ? Jon Joe Kenny ? George Waring ?

Every player who has played for oxford is part of the club's history, and I think fans like to keep updated whether they loved or hated them as players.

Maguire, Skarz and Edwards all played 90 for Bury last night. Marvin came on as a half time sub against Villa. Sercombe played 90 for rovers. Wright and Baldock started for Sheff United and Lunny came on in 64th min. Hylton played 90 for Luton and Mullins was an unused sub. MacDonald and Hemmings started for Mansfield and Potter came on in 64th min. Dunks spent the night on twitter.

Could you find out how Dan Crowley is getting on ? Tyler Roberts ? Ritchie Baker ? Joe Riley ? Carlton Morris ? According to Mark "Every player who has played for oxford is part of the club's history, and I think fans like to keep updated whether they loved or hated them as players" Its not that i loved or hated them,i just can't remember most of them,so if they made no impression on me while playing for Oxford, why should i want to keep updated on them ? Although i will admit when i see Jake Forster-Caskey playing for Charlton,i remember him being half decent at Oxford.

Many of us are interested as he had an excellent few months in a very successful team. I can't remember many permanent signings over the years. And yes please I would be interested in knowing how Crowley is getting on (and I do follow Tyler Roberts

Carlton Morris has picked up a couple for Shrewsbury and looked like a handful against us a few weeks ago. Seems like an ok player at this level, I guess that our paths crossed at the wrong time.

I think that with both Morris and Tyler Roberts, we had them before they were ready. Apparently there are a number of Championship clubs looking at Roberts now.

Crowley is on loan in Holland Bizarrely I met a Go Ahead Eagles fan earlier this year, who said that Crowley had looked good and been fairly popular there. However GAE as a whole were rubbish and got relegated bottom of the league. Crowley playing at Willem II this season - he obviously has some potential but bouncing around the Netherlands seems like a tough way to forge a career out of it.

Feel free to mention them saddletramp no one is stopping you . Or if this thread disgusts you so much feel free to not read it. Sent from my SM-G930F using proboards Ritchie Baker ? Now there’s an odd name. A fairly non-descript midfielder from Bury who made six sub appearances for us back in 2010. CW’s policy at the time was ‘let’s sign anything that moves!’ as Kelvin Thomas just seemed to let him. Mitchell Hanson, Simon Hackney, Djoumin Sangare and so on. We had a lot of players make a handful of appearances for us that season. Baker has since played for Barrow, Tamworth, Stockport, AFC Fylde and was most recently at FC United of Manchester in the NL North. He left there earlier this month after only two starts and one sub appearance. He’s currently ‘between jobs’ to use non-footballing parlance. EDIT. It’s good fun seeking out just where old players end up especially those sinking down in the lower reaches of the football pyramid. Seeking out infrequently used forums or finding old links to players leaving clubs to eventually find that a youth teamer who made two FLT appearances many moons ago is turning out for the Yeading Old Boys Second XI is somehow satisfying. The one that has proven almost impossible to track down that it’s driven me up the wall is one appearance wonder in 2004-05 Doudou. I’ve love to know where he ended up.
